I’ve only been mountain lion hunting 2 times but I had coon and coyote hounds for 40 years and if I had my pick I would like a hound to cold trail silent like that. You sure catch a lot more game. You might have a different opinion on dry ground lion hounds.
With the availability of tracking collars these days, the only benefit in barking is to the lion. Dogs are sayin, “hey we’re coming, better get a head start!” 😉
