@@cr4yv3n Thanks buddy. I totally agree. The base models are getting so expensive and then there is the decoder price. It was never like this 50 years ago. Unfortunately the manufacturers are answering the demand for more detail which costs.

@@delticnapierdccsound4236 yeah I dug up an old Behrliner TT Bahnen set from when my dad bought it for me 40 years ago. Sadly the rails are rusted and the engines need serious maintenance. Wondering if i should stick to TT or bite the bullet and switch to HO or N like everyone seems to be doing. I think i could afford one loco / year :D

@@delticnapierdccsound4236 Thanks for the info. I'll have a go at this. I've got a spare 8 pin class 25 chassis to play with. Is there enough room to do it without disturbing the bogie mounting?. I've done 2 Deltics before where the EM2 speaker mounts underneath the chassis in the fuel tanks.

@@chris_3636 just take the chassis down far as safely as u can , remove all the fan rubbish and glue just the fan under the grill. U have to fit the em2 the fan end because of how the shell mounts are. I think from memory the shell mounts have to go from the shell but the other 2 at the other end are ample. Alot of bachmann models have various screws missing most of the time.

@delticnapierdccsound4236 this is just a question, not a I want this now. I have built a class 13 using the new class 08 toolings by graham farish. I would like too keep it dual motor at all costs. Would you put two decoders in or would one suffice, and could you fit a stay alive aswell? I'm not desperate for this but once the layout is completed and I've payed off this bachmann class 31 I'm going to pre order, dcc sound in my 13 would be nice but out of my skills. Thanks, luke. ;D

@@class_31clag hi, I've done a fare few 08's with sound. I've done a 13 also.. The 13 had the slave stripped out as a dummy but had drag still which caused the master to wheel slip a bit. Having both motored is a better way but adds more wires running between the 2. It is possible, just needs a little thought..

@delticnapierdccsound4236 I wouldn't mind cables running between the two, there already is two because I wired the pick ups together because one would stall stopping the other one from moving.

@@class_31clag hi, by the the sound of it the picks up need tweaking and a good wheel clean wouldn't go a mis. But yes its possible...

Hi, have you heard of the EM2 used in oo gauge? This 20 is fitted with an EM3 ,its the size of 2 packets of fans basically. To fit it ,the whole centre of the chassis had to be removed... A lot of work but u will never beat. I actually fitted an EM4 in to a deltic which filled the hole space between the motors after mega milling... Biffs sound as well..
