Here in SC we were in the path of Helene too, a tree that was in my front yard for decades was uprooted, we lost power for about ten days but no one was hurt and we were pretty fortunate, glad you and your family are safe, this was a historic storm and hopefully we will never see one like it again.
@Joe-lj4jw I'm glad you and your family made it through alright as well. That actually reminds me of something else I heard but didn't think it relevant to mention. A lot of the woodcutters in our area are telling people to stock up on supplies and be prepared for more power outages this winter once the snow starts to fall, as a LOT of trees are apparently damaged and may come down at the drop of a hat. I know up here we've actually had several trees start to fall just recently with no warning and in relatively calm weather, so it'd pay to stock up just in case.
@@black_dea7h_1995we cut down two trees in our yard a year ago and there is a good chance they may have fallen on our house in the storm if we hadn't done so. It's a good idea to evaluate the trees and cut down the weak ones before the snow starts falling, or at least remove the potentially dangerous limbs, not sure how many people will take that precaution though.
