Hi, I'm Mike; I'm a Gulf Real Estate Realtor® in Panama City, Florida who loves fishing again.
In Florida, most people are never more than about a half hour from enjoying the big water, bays, or lakes.
I will be showing beautiful fishing spots, & with permission, some beautiful properties being offered - they could be YOURS! (If the video is old - they might be sold).
I loved fishing as a kid.
I loved introducing my kids to fishing.
Until one day I pigged out on some sword fish and got really, sick (might have been the migraine).
If you ever had one of those experiences with some certain variety of adult beverages - you know.
I couldn't look at fish for a couple decades (I got over it; but it's the reason I'm extra picky about 'what's a keeper').
When my older brother retired, one way for us to reconnect was to go fishing together; and it brought me back.
So this channel is me, learning to fish again, accepting how much I have to learn and trying to get it right for the first time.

I failed to suspect a problem that I should have suspected sooner. I had some goofy guesses at it until I got cooled off and had a chance to approach the issue with some steps. I'll save the answer for the end of the video. We might have some fun 'non-fishing' stuff coming up on the channel soon.

We went looking for Mahi Mahi, and caught the target species. I need to make some adjustments for next time, but we finally got some action on the boat!

Tried some inshore fishing for a short trip and had a really strange catch on a surface popper.

I thought I was making a quick video about removing a bail trip lever arm. Turns out I'd be deciding whether to make a "Part 1/Part 2" with no clear idea WHEN part 2 would happen (As a viewer who has spent time trying to hunt up serial episodes on TH-cam, that idea didn't thrill me.) ...so I waited the whole wait and put them together... Here are part 1 and part 2 in one video.

If you get anything else tangled in your line, definitely use a towel or something even stronger; the spears on an egret or heron's face can stab you silly and an osprey IS a raptor with all the shearing, tearing and puncturing grip that implies. A plain ol' gull, though, is easy peasy. A new buddy, James, mentioned that he loves fishing but hadn't done much of it here - hard for me to let some...

I have a 2007 Shallow Sport BAHIA 18 basically the same boat as the SPORT 18 but the Sport is prettier and the Bahia lighter. I have a 90 Hp Evinrude, with 2 big fellas and gear it tops out at 31 mph w/ 3 blade prop, no extra weight from a K-Top or T-Top and using nothing but Ethanol-Free Fuel, my preference. Not great if the chop gets above 2' but I still love this boat and at my age I've had a few boats and his boat is great inshore. "Tight Lines and Full Limits To Ya"
Sandfleas are great for pompanos. Preferably fresh. Looks like you hit the motherload and nice sizes too. We've all had those days where either nothing is biting, everything is biting and your equipment isn't working right. I carry 4 go pro batteries at all time and still run into low battery issues.
I had a set of spares; but no idea where I last saw them! I just recently replaced them...
The storm mad it hard all through out the panhandle and big bend. Went to Mexico Beach for a planned Pompano video but ended up having to change things up and do a Sail Cat video out of St. George because of the muddy waters, wave action etc
Any other suggestions on structure fishing for the table in PCB? I go down for Spaniards at the end of March, but i would love to try some other spots for dinner if they arent biting! Great video!

Had so much fun. I think I might get a couple tenkara rods for next time. Not as much need for casting.
I had a great time. I've concluded that you have to develop a feel for the fly rod. There's salt water fly fishing, so that day might come.

The bridge I'm fishing under is a small park on the beach end of 192, can't cast net there but there's another park across 192. There's probably better spots, but we didn't do a lot of exploring. That bridge is loaded with snags.

Fish Bites and Fish Gum is the best way to deal with Pin Fish and still hook up on snapper/sheep head/reds and multiple other fish around the pan handle without loosing bait on nearly every drop.
I swear by Fish bites in the surf. I'll give it a try.
You have a really good channel. Is there a parking area there?
There's parking on both ends of the bridge, but it's a little tough to spot - you can only get to either one from the eastbound lane - it can be a little bit of a hassle cause it might take a couple passes the first time.

I'm from Texas but come to PCB several times a year. Fishing with live shrimp at Hathaway Bridge is basically just begging to feed the pinfish!

I had such a great time at the boat show. We're "boat shopping", too, but we're much more likely to look for something gently used. We want to get familiar with models/features before we get really serious.

We grilled the smaller one, wrapped in foil, kinda steaming in butter and seasonings. (I might do a catch and cook at some point, but I'll have to learn how to cook...)
