The garbage is overwhelming at first but I finally am use to it. Still training my kids on what goes where. We bought a CRV before moving here and I am happy we did. It’s so easy to pick out who is American. I think many stare because of being interracial and wondering if I am African or American. We have a lot of African people in Vicenza area though.

When we went to Italy (we are an interracial couple also), They starred at us the entire vacation, but it didn't seem to be like the US people stares (meaning when we get stares in the U.S.A it usually they want us to know they do not approve😂😂. Of course we couldn't care less about that foolishness. However, the Italy people stared at us like they thought we were celebrities. It was still irritating, but we dealt with it by ignoring the stares. Sounds like you all are settling in quite well. Continue to enjoy this time. BTW, are you all there for a long time?

I am always shocked when I hear some people don’t prepack stuff. We use totes for all the toys and vacuumed sealed all the linens. Did you do a UAB shipment too?

Glad you all made it to Italy! We shipped our car a month before. You are not suppose to put US spec car seats in EU spec cars but we did for 2 weeks while waiting for our car.😅

Omgoodness I’m so jealous! Living in hotels can be rough and I personally had a hard time whenever we PCS’d but living in FL for the last few years I’d give anything to go back overseas. Those were some of my best times so far. Enjoy Aviano, it’s always sounded like a cool place to be stationed.

Yay, you all made it to Italy😊! My hubby and myself had the pleasure of traveling to Italy (Turin) a few years back. We enjoyed it but said it would be a great trip for when we are older because that area was more village style and a place retired people would enjoy more of the very laid back lifestyle. There were castles to explore, and everything was within walking distance so a rental car was not necessary. We learned while out shopping that almost all businesses shut down for 2 hours starting at noon. I thought that was so cool because it showed the value for the employees/their mental health. In The USA, no business would be that giving to their employees for fear of not making more money despite their employee's declining mental health😂😂😂😂. I hope you all enjoy your stay in that area of Italy. I cannot wait to hear more from you and your family's adventure. God bless and be safe✨✨💖💖💖💖✨✨

What part of Italy are you relocating to?

Lol:) it’s Europe of course they have malls and stores including rugs:) its funny, I am German citizen of African descendant and I live in USA. Americans always had those funny assumptions about Germany. It made me think what their assumptions about Africa would be..😅😅😅

Yes there are rug stores and furniture stores but I’m picky and cheap😂 I bought rugs before we moved. I gave away a lot of baby stuff to people in my neighborhood and one of my husband’s soldiers before we moved. Always nice to help others.

You should buy compression packing cubes. They work great for children's clothes. I got a set for each of my kids and fit all their clothes in one bag.

First, best of luck for your family while transferring to Italy! Here are some things my family would definitely add based upon our own Italian travels: 1. Places like TJMaxx have a great selection of affordable, hard shell luggage which usually come in sets of three (one of which you can take as a carry-on with essentials in case the others get delayed/lost). 2. Bring make-up (as well as body and hair products) for African-Americans, as it will be hard to find and/or very expensive. 3. Italian (aka, European) clothing and shoe sizes run small compared to American builds, so if you are taller/bigger, stock up.

Ridiculous that they cost so much.

Good luck on the process. We found out last summer we were going to Italy and finally leave in one week. We went and bought a new set of hard body luggage and taking 2 big black rolling duffles also.

I am excited for you all🙌🙌🙌🙌! My hubby and I traveled there when we first got married. We were in Turin Italy. We chose that location because I had a friend staying there at the time. I do want to recommend not saving an ounce of furniture. Sell it all and be free of storage debt. That money can be used to buy all new stuff when you return to the US.😊. I can't wait to hear all about your move in a future video.
