This just broke my heart, i knew from the start that thing song reminded me of akechi and the lyrics just confirmed my theory. This song can make me cry without even trying😭😭😭😭😭😭 I think many people have figured out that this song is from jokers view (probably?) about akechi, he meet the actual akechi and when he left he of course had pain, but eventually has to move on in life and the pain too.

Final boss to Joker Random forgettable encounter to Flynn Smt protags are on a different league if a guy without super powers just a sword given by Masakado is enough to beat Demiurge

I really like how much Persona 5 Royal emphasized this theme of loss and moving on from it. Because every single member of the Phantom Thieves has lost someone important to them. Usually it's through death, but they also just mourn what's been lost. Ryuji lost the happiness from his track team, Ann lost her happiness with Shiho, Yusuke lost his mother and even the man he wanted Madarame to be, Makoto lost her father and even her relationship with Sae had been damaged, Futaba lost her mother, Haru lost her father both physically and emotionally, Akechi lost his mother and his own way through life, Sumire lost her sister and herself, and even Joker. The leader. He lost Akechi. ALL of them have something to mourn, and all of them had to try to move on from that loss. And there is a sweetness that arises from the melancholy from seeing them make that journey. God, what a phenomenal game man.

Somebody help me out here. Im trying to find the song that plays during the credits but every time i try to find it it keeps taking me back to this song and this very clearly not the song that was playing.

After beating this game again just last night, I can easily say I am glad I played the Persona series. It was like this franchise was destined to be one of my favorites, and I feel like it taught me so much I did not know about myself. Ever since I first saw Morgana I did not know what the series was and since Joker got into smash I was like I need to get into this series. I watched a playthrough of Vanilla Persona 5 and I thought this was a great game. I even looked into more of the persona series and listened to the soundtracks. Then, in Christmas 2020, I asked for a ps4, and one of the games I got was Persona 5 Royal. Even though I watched a playthrough, I played it through the first time and really got to enjoy the characters and the gameplay and the story. I played it again and realized as an adult what the hell I was doing with myself. So yeah, I feel like this series taught me that even in our grieving, we have to keep living life, our friends will always be there for me, you need to accept your flaws, never be afraid to stand up for yourself, you should never pretend to be someone or something and just be your own self.

It’s crazy how much persona has impacted me as a person like I never thought that games can offer this kind of wisdom that you would get from religious books and biographies of great people. oh wait but isn’t that what makes most of the persona games

With all the games I've played since all the years before and all the years after I played Royal there isn't a single ending theme to any game that makes me feel more emotion the some of the Xeno series songs come close but they just don't top the emotions of this song

So, uh. I kinda noticed something? Maybe this is obvious, but um. (…Oh, yeah, Spoilers for P5 and P5S) I find it funny that Yaldabaoth- a False God born from the wish of the masses, has a mechanical look to his body, while the Demiurge, an AI assistant turned into a False God, has a much more actually angelic appearance. On top of that, the Demiurge wishes Sophia well before/during/after their death, while Yaldabaoth goes “Damn, Igor wasn’t making stuff up. Well what do ya know.” and *then* dies. Which is pretty ironic, because the literal computer-program-made-god seems to show understanding and, dare I say, compassion towards Sophia, while Yaldabaoth (Literal manifestation of the collective wishes of Japan’s/the World’s people) just goes “Well, fuck.”

I haven’t played the game yet…. BUT, this song makes me cry because of the general message. I’m sure I’ll cry more when I play it😂

Amazing how much the opening and credits theme chose to parallel Akechi's story. Like wow. This song makes me think of my dad after reading the english translation. I lost him 2 years ago when I was 18 and I've been a mess

The first time I finished the game I just sat there hearing this and I started bawling. I didn't cry a single time throughout the entire game, but after 200 hours everything that I experienced came to my mind (especially the Royal part) and the song absolutely destroyed me.

The most impactful moment in the game, is the scene where everyone says they are going separate ways, following their own paths.

Perhaps the only strike they did was on a cord in my Heart

The good part of this absolute slog of a boss fight. This fight is absolutely one of the most boring fights for the end of a game. EVEN with maxed out charcters it takes damn near 25 minutes.

I’ve just beaten Royal for the nth time, and no matter how many times I play it, it will always be special. P3 and 4 are great games and I love them, but they just don’t leave the same impact that this game did for me. There was nothing more satisfying than the experience that is P5R. We will meet again…

listening to this song at 5am reminds me of when i first went to college after completing p5r for the first time,, i was left with a lot of mixed feelings after that ending, with what happened with Akechi, as well as the phantom thieves going their separate ways; it weighed on me to be heading into such a similar situation in my own life. I was leaving my family and most of my only friends behind for a chance at a different life at uni - I found new friends there and after, and lost,, that I am deeply reminded of when I hear this song. the memories we made over moments we shared will forever be in my mind; there's always so much i want to say, so much i believe i shouldve, in certain moments; most times i can only ever manage to express gratitude in my mind over having lived such experiences, for better or for worse. perhaps thats okay.
