I wrote this because the city name kind of rolls off the tongue. I've only been there once. But it was very pleasant.
A good song with a good message! The whole world seems to be getting more frenetic, less tolerant and somewhat polarised! We should at least try to understand other people -- even if they don't think and vote as we do!

I know just how you feel! We recently had a general election here in the UK, to elect a new government and new Prime Minister, but those running for leadership were less than desirable for the top job, in my view (and many other people's views). I did vote, but with a heavy heart! A good topical song Jeff!

This made me smile! I guess a (largely unrealistic) longing for fame and recognition prompts many to start a youtube channel, but fame does not equate to greatness (as I'm sure you know!). Speaking for myself, I started my youtube channel to preserve my own songs, and to have fun posting covers. Hopefully my songs will still be there after I am gone, but I have no ambition or desire to become famous. I have turned down several "offers" to help promote my channel and my songs (no doubt for a fee!). I casually point out to such people who message me that I am just an amateur musician having fun posting songs on youtube, and then they usually go away and don't bother me again! Ah! Life is simple, if you want it to be lol!
When I posted my first video I thought for sure it would get a million views. Well, that didn't happen. Then you come to realize that they have an algorithm that really sets how popular a video can be. I've had moderate success on some videos and have settled into the idea that I will never monetize and be satisfied that there are musicians like us that support each other in our efforts. I am very grateful for that.
@@tjeff51 Yes, some of us do support each other, and that's a good thing. We get to know other people, to some extent, and interact with them, which is also a good thing. It would be great if somebody famous contacted me, saying they'd like to record one of my songs, but I know that will never happen, and I can live with that. Music is there to be enjoyed, and I do enjoy it. Keep on posting your videos and continue enjoying the ride! Best wishes from England!

Jim Croce was one of the best singer-songwriters of the 1970's, and he's certainly one of my favourites. Many of his songs (including this one) contain a hint of humour. You interpret the song well, my friend!
I remember his song I Got a Name came out after his death and it was so moving I cried. A great songwriter.
