It’s a nightmare for all of us to see a pan falling down by accident. Good when you have your handpan-builder - for a short fix/retuning if possible - or a real repair (including opening the instrument), if needed. Thank you, Sebastian! Very happy having built this one again. Love the layout with white keys on top and black keys on the bottom. The A2-topside makes a very nice A-low-minor scale too, with three As. The layout was developed some years ago for a symphony-orchestra percussionist, I know of at least two builders who meanwhile copied the exact layout. On this one fundamentals are in equal temperament, harmonics are just.

@@owl-pan I'm confused because this is a piece written in a Dm mode not a scale/arpeggio. Like, Bach's Toccatta and Fugue is in Dm but not a scale.

Danke! Schon krass, was für feine Instrumente es inzwischen da draußen gibt - aber Spieler auf so einem Level zu sehen, ist auch echt ein seltenes Vergnügen. Ich staune jedes mal, wenn ich Jan Jesuthas zuhöre, bei allen seinen Projekten!

The bass note is impressing. Also that you seem to have overcome the interference problem.
yes, the A2 central note is very impressive with a Gong-like timbre and lots of subtilities to play with. I love it! It's a bit of a pitty that the recording does notcatch the sound like it's in reality. The Bb4-problem on handpans with standard-diameter is something I tried to get better over the years, again and again. With very good results, today. Here the Bb4 is the highest note on the bottom-side. The Bb4-interference is still slightly there, the note slightly dampened - but only if you listen very closely - if you would not know, you would not hear it. In the end it's astonishing what progress handpans made in the last ten years!

This is the third Bb4, better every time. There is still a slight dampening effect, but you couldn't tell if you wouldn't know. I'll try to investigate this further
