Now THAT was cringe!

After watching several videos and reading reviews about the resorts in Varadero, I decided to spend my holidays at the Selectum Family Hotel. I'm disappointed, because NOBODY who posted videos on TH-cam warned about the problem of the beach being full of rocks, and they are big rocks, impossible to step on to swim in the sea. Furthermore, the buffet food is cold, the fruit juice is artificial, the pillow on the bed is very thin and low. So, avoid the Selectum hotel because there are better resort options with beaches that are easily accessible for swimming. POOR internet and they do not clean the room and change the towels unless you ask for it.

Truly a lovely hotel. I stayed here recently for a week. Clean, quiet, great staff, well maintained but climbing the hill to get to it on a hot day can be challenging. I highly recommend it for max 3 days due to limited sites in town and area.

We have stayed at the Bella Costa 5 times in Cuba and loved it,not overcrowded,lovely staff, from our room on the 5th floor to the beach was 3 minutes to a fabulous beach ,and yes it is Cuba the food was ok but seemed to improve each year , love that place especially in the evening to people watch and sit in the main entrance lobby ,thanks for reminding me of this place
