I read a man's mining report 10 years ago and he showed it is clearly impossible to build enough wind generators to even come close to replacing fossil fuels with megawatt wind generators. Even with molten salt thorium breeder reactors the amount of copper while much less than difuse wind generators will tax the world's copper resources.

This is a good interview. Randy is a laid back guy. I agree with a lot of what he says here. I plan to leave Canada too. I protested almost every weekend for 2 years during Covid lockdowns in Alberta. The media ignored us or lied about us when it suited their purposes. The Freedom Convoy in early 2022 was too big to ignore so the media lied about us some more. The governments in Ottawa and Edmonton got involved and weaponized the justice system against innocent Canadians simply for asking for their God-given rights back! Innocent men still sit in jail cells in Alberta after the Coutts border protest. I'm thinking like Randy and will check out Belize or Panama while Canada self-destructs. Get out while you can, people, or find somewhere off-grid to ride out the storm.

Energy powers ecological devastation independent of its source. If human beings actually had an endless source of free clean green energy… Which does not exist it would only fuel the acceleration of the destruction of the biosphere. Deforestation, ocean depletion, habitat loss, desertification, biodiversity loss, soil degradation, groundwater depletion, global warming, overpopulation, rampant pollution, and the six mass extinction would all continue to accelerate. This is not a supply problem… It’s a demand problem! Fewer humans equals less suffering for all life on earth! We really need to promote government and nonprofit funded vasectomies and tubal ligations. I realize that it is unlikely that governments will pass a tax on the rich to pay for voluntary sterilization, and you may not be able to contribute, or participate in a nonprofit that funds voluntary sterilization. However, you can discuss with others whether it is ethical to bring a child onto a planet in the midst of global industrial, and ecological collapse. We can talk about the ways that we can mitigate the consequences of ecological overshoot, or people can stay silent, remain ignorant, live in denial, continue to celebrate procreation, and contribute to the ensuing misery. We can either reduce our population by choice… Or we can let nature do it in her unmerciful way… it’s biology 101. A life that is never brought into existence, is a life that will not have to experience the wretchedness of the unequivocal impending collapse.

I didn't understand his solution. The problem is the lack of US government policy around automobile industry and housing. Where I am in the USA I see more than half the vehicles are huge trucks and SUVs, a complete waste of fuel. Every highway is packed with huge vehicles with one person in them. And the zoning rules separate housing from places of employment and shopping. Housing is not integrated like in Europe. Nothing is likely to change because the government leaders are all slaves to corporations. The people will continue to burn up as much fuel as possible as fast as possible, sitting on their fat asses in huge vehicles until every drop of fuel is burned up.
