What did you use to remove the wood behind the plate so that it sits flush?
@@consignmentwares1433 you can use a small trim router which is fast but make a mess of sawdust. For this project I used a coping saw to make the small cuts at top and bottom, then a chisel to remove the middle.
Most boilers Have Zone valves that need Electricity to operate. What would you do about that? Duct tape open?
@@pets7164 if you have valves vs pumps, then look up the manual for the valve. There should be a manual override to open it.

This is a great video! I used to install boilers but never got into servicing them until i have my own. Just turned it on and the blowoff keeps popping and i got half a bucket of water on the floor already. I just replaced the fast fill/pressure reducing valve last year and tested everything else, all was fine. Those only went bad when you touched them but i havent yet. The temperature is fine, mine sits at 17 psi for three floors. I will test my expansion tank but the only thing left is the pressure reducing valve AGAIN or the seat of the blowoff not right. But the seat is still experiencing extra pressure and going off so the 'seat' doesnt seem to be the cause.
@@melodicapex860 yes, possibly the expansion tank not doing it's job!

Replace the ends and use connectors that lock in to eachother to ensure a tight fit always, its gonna be a more expensive than the standard, but it would prevent this from ever happening again a planer has a high amp motor because it needs alot of torque at high rpm so any sort of gap in your connection is gonna make hot arcs that can give you issues like this You could even just get crimp connectors, some solder to fill the gaps of the crimp connectors, and some heat shrink tube and just have a longer cable, that would be your safest bet, and the cheapest
What did you expect with a 14/2 wire?
@@joncooper3188 12 AWG imprinted on the extension cord. I think a poor end connector though
The ext. Cord is only rated at 13 amps of current max. You have it plugged into a 20 amp gfci recepticle, the female end of the extention got hot and began getting soft. Use heavier gauge extension, maf have to replace plug on planner.
bullshit
Garbage extension cord to be using for that long with a plainer.
@@williamterpak5305 could you recommend one, or type of features to look for? I know I went with the cheapest 12 gauge at the time I bought this a while ago.
Wont you have issues with bricks being unleavened as the earth goes up and down during the cold then warm season due to the permafrost stuff? I'm new to the stuff and youre channel has been fantastic.
@@Septix thanks! I didn't make a full patio build video since there were many others already. So I just put together this shorter video. The best you can do is build to avoid freeze-thaw issues. Proper base (deep, solid packed crusher run) so any water that gets underneath drains away. And then build the patio to be impermeable so water drains off it rather than getting through.
Not heavy enough extension cord . It thermal welded it together. Be carful !
In this case, I'd say corrosion or loose fit on the receptacle is causing a weak connection, which causes heat. The male end of the cord has visible corrosion as well, so I'd replace it anyway. May think about building heavier duty cables and the replacable ends. They last a long time and if they wear out, you can replace just the ends.
@@nitroburner77 yeah, difficult decision to just toss out a 100 ft cord so I was thinking of replacing the ends
@@realhouseDIY If the cord itself is good, I'd start there, for sure.
That extension cord is way too light for your tool. You spent a lot of money for a good quality planer, why would you cheap out on the extension cord? Go get a 12 gauge cord, or heavier . It will prolong the life of the planer.🤠 That orange one looks like a 16 gauge or lighter. 😢
Throw away the orange cord
@@markm7311 it's 12/3 x 100 ft. I checked the planer manual and appears to meet the specs in the table. I've used this extension cord with this planer for at least 6 years. Only difference this time, I ran it for a lot longer than usual without powering off. The manual doesn't specify continuous usage duration.
@@markm7311 yes confirmed just now 12AWG imprinted on the extension cord.
@@realhouseDIY well, I would guess that the receptacle end may be worn out. If it was mine I would just throw it away and if I was using a 100' cord regularly I would definitely consider getting a 10 gauge x 100'. Plus you said it is over 6 years ago, probably time to replace it anyway. Cords don't last forever. Good luck. 🤠
@@markm7311 thanks, appreciate it!
So anyone know if the extension cord is still safe to use?
Only for smaller loads or short duty cycles, I'd stay under a couple hundred watts continuous or 2 minutes in 10 max
Truthfully is it worth risking a fire? It's already damaged, it could have reduced the capacity of it and it could start a fire, unlikely, but there is a reason why you replace cords once they get damaged.
@@itwaslikethiswhenifoundit5941 I'm running it with a saw right now no problem. Only difficult to plug/unplug
@@devonross3938 thinking of just replacing the ends. No need to toss the whole cord right?
Replace the ends and limit its use to lighter duty. You are also asking a lot out of it, the longer the cord is. That's why I like try to go biggest guage acceptable for my longer cords. Give myself a bigger safety net by going bigger guage.

What's the elevation where you live? I'm interested in hydraulic systems operating above 3,000 ft elevation. Your machine looks like it's well designed for cavitation problems from low atmospheric pressure. thanks.
@@MaxYeh-j1r no more than 500 ft here

Thank you for your video... I have a question... I have a self-cleaning electric oven. I'm looking for a replacement bulb. The oven bulbs I'm finding say they are good for 300c which is 572f. However I read that the self-cleaning oven gets up to 800-900deg Fahrenheit. Do I need an extra special bulb for this oven?
@@rray848 I would consult the manual first. The self cleaning temp goes high in my oven as well. I don't use the cleaning feature but the manual calls for the standard bulb rated for 300c. I'm guessing they are rated for occasional higher temps but the 300c is sustained duration use (thousands of hours).

I am finishing the inside of a prebuilt shed. I am insulating the walls and ceiling with rockwool. I had planned on using Membrain instead of vapor barrier. It will mostly be an unconditioned shed. I may use some sort of a portable heater in the more intense cold spells. After reading some comments, it sounds like I could end up with condensation, which is what I am trying to avoid. Did I misunderstand that?.
If you will sometimes be heating it, then use the membrain between the drywall and insulation. And yes worst case, and assuming no continuous layer of insulation, if it is cold inside the shed, humid outside, and hot sun against the siding, it will drive moisture through (mostly near the cold uninsulated studs) and condense on whatever surface is there. You would rather it condense on a vapor retarder than on drywall paper. The moisture will dry out and be okay. The rockwool insulation is good for preventing mold too. For a building that will never be heated, supposedly can go without it, especially a garage that will have a ton of moisture getting in anyway.
The button/cap is just plastic plated thinly with chrome to conduct the current when the button is pressed. The chrome wore off at the battery contact inside my button, so I ran a wire from the spring inside the tube to the outside end of the battery and made contact for ignition. Since this worked, I cut parts of the button and incorporated the wire into the cap. See if this works.
@@charliebear7392 agree that's a great solution if that strip breaks. Same as I would have done
Can I just pipe the dehum into the pump, plug the pump into the wall, and ignore the little wires?
