Kurt Loder defends Bobby Brown against reports of drug use
มุมมอง 64K10 ปีที่แล้ว
From MTV News, 1989: Kurt Loder shills for Bobby Brown and denounces "unattributed and unsubstantiated rumors" that Brown is having problems with drugs. Brown also denies that his girlfriend is pregnant a few months later, his daugher LaPrincia was born.
The mic coming out of the bass kills me.
Larry's truly an innovator. There may be better thumpers now, but he invented this style. And no one can take that away. Thump on Mr. Graham.
The bass god...
He pushed the envelope and created a whole new style of playing ... and goes down in history as an innovator ...
Larry Graham ..SLY and the Family Stone & Graham Central Station PLUS Prince knew how to Acknowledge GREATNESS Larry Graham & SLY Stone Thank for let me by myself Then and Again !
He high in the interview😂
I was still a kid when everyone was calling him the bad boy of RnB. But by todays standards? Bobby would be a Choir boy in comparisson to R. Kelly and P. Diddy
LARRY GRAHAM , IS THE BADDEST MUTHAPLUCKER ON THE PLANET . PERIOD . ASK BOOTSY * MARCUS MILLER ...LOUIS JOHNSON .
That bass is on display at the Hard Rock Cafe! Saw it last night in person
Amazing!😊
We love larry Graham !!!!!❤❤
Yayo literally fell out of this ni%%a's pocket while he was jumping around on an mtv award show stage
Bless you for posting this!
Dang. . . aside from killing it on the guitar, the man's a damn good storyteller
it baffles me that people watch the lifetime biopic movie about him and rush to his defence... meanwhile they've never done the real research to know bobby has a track history of lying.............
The only thing that made him attractive was his dance moves and his singing. Other than that, he was actually a very unattractive scrawny 14 yr old looking kid with a pretentious and cocky personality. Definitely someone any mother would keep their child away from.
Yeah yeah yeah..go Larry!
THIS CROWD HAD KNOW IDEA THE BRILLIANCE THAT WAS STANDING BEFORE THEM
No, they came to his show to see him. He's a good player , but rambled on with this "look at me" bit. Super awkward , that's why nobody applauded until the end out of pity. He needed a pat on the back so he used to do this spiel during his shows. People got sick of him talking and just wanted him to shut up and play bass. He would also ramble on about Jehovah's witnesses on stage. He turned into a sad lounge act because of his unlikeable personality, always self-aggrandizing
Primes vibes on the last song!
❤❤❤
I can't believe the audience was so lame! Larry Graham.... Best bassist ever to have lived. Period. 😎👍🏻
What audience?
Not gonna point out the fact that he dropped his bag of cocaine while on stage dancing during the MTV music awards 😂😂😂
It was weed not cocaine

Thank you master Graham. Master Mingus, master Pastorius…
Wow! Great voice and guitar playing!
Amazing!!!It never gets old!
the likes of les claypool, flea, bootsy collins, louis johnson, etc would not exist at all in the way they do today without this guy, much respect
Yes absolutely !!!!
And Prince!
Larry Graham is the inventor of the thump base style. and no one else can say it. he’s been doing that since the 60s. The rest of those people started in the 70s and Larry hasn’t gotten his just do about it. they should appreciate this man while he’s here. That funk music has influence practically all the music that we listen to today from hip-hop. as far The music of hip-hop that strong deep thump comes from funk. All the dance music from disco and especially club music. Club music comes from the dance music that Black people used to listen to and that was funk music that we used to dance to. James Brown came up with the funky beat and Larry put it into bass music. the base in reggae, Larry Graham’s base, it was around before the deep base of reggae and anything else with a deep bass in it
Take note...THIS WAS WAY BEFORE WHITNEY WAS IN HIS LIFE!!! Funny how he's changed the narrative since her transition to say that she was the one who introduced it to him and got him hooked
They met the same year this interview came out at the soul train awards tho
Well, Whitney introduced him to class A type of drugs.
I saw Sly and the Family Stone in 1968 in Detroit. Larry Graham thumped and plucked up a storm! Amazing.
The MASTER!!!! Thanks you for sharing this!
I wonder where the drummer is at now….
How is this even possible?
Bobby didnt get on Drugs into Whitney Houston came.. Smoke Weed & Drink Liquor
LIES!
That’s true but who cares nobody is perfect
@@TDoeful its not😎
@@jasondawson92 .. Whats ur point?
@@rollinstonemoula9689 PLEASE do your research, before you put out what you think is true???
Brilliant 🙏✌️♥️🌍
I totally dig Larry Grahm, Sly & The Family Stone, "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)", "Pow" etc. Larry is the reason why funk bass sounds so cool and this video perfectly sums up his story on his invention of thumpin and pluckin the electric bass which everyone else calls "slap bass"! LOVE this video, I wish I can hit the thumbs up twice or more for this video, I would thump and pluck that thumbs up button hundreds of times for this awesome video!!!
MY BROTHA, IS MAGNIFICENT,
Fast forward to 2022 Bobby Brown has endured great family losses, personal issues yet he has been able to still go on - New Edition Culture Tour 2022 Phenomenal 👑👑👑👑👑👑💕One Love 💕
Mmmmm. Cocaine.
A baby's first lesson taught by mom/dad...is how to LIE!!
Badass thumpin plunkin ~¡♤♤@
Why do ppl care so much? Yh he did drugs but instead of trying to help him the tabloids just sell everything that makes him even look bad not only him but Whitney too like instead of bashing them in tabloids just help them!!! Instead of making Dumbass drug jokes and pretend y’all are sad they died f***nh hypocrites!!!!
Welcome to being black in America.
Loder was that guy that gave me as a teen my news
Larry Graham, you are a gift to a lot of bass players who came after you! Thank you for letting us be a piece of you on the bass!
If he was white this shit would have never been a news bulletin
He is phenomenal on the bass , Tommy Cogbill would put Vaseline on his plucking fingers so the bass would sound like it was bouncing ! You hear that on Aretha Franklin records like, Respect, Chain If Fool, Think, Since you’ve been gone !
Spiritual brother of mine ! He and Tommy Cogbill, are two great bassists !
If you doing 300 shows a year you might need drugs so you don't crash
Somebody shoulda stepped in right here to support Bobby. He was the gravy train and no one got in front of him to ensure he wouldn't continue down that road
