STYLES YOU MUST CUT ON BIAS | The Bias Grain | Bias Cut Dresses.
To cut on bias means to cut at the diagonal 45 degree angle of your fabric's warp and weft.
Cutting this way changes the flow of your fabric and shapes it can take.
✨ Bias cuts enhance the shape and flow of your designs, which is ideal for garments that require a soft and fluid drape.
✨ The bias grain allows the fabric to stretch and conform to the body's contours for better fit and comfort.
✨ The bias cut can create interesting visual effects, such as diagonal lines or flowing shapes, that add to the garment's overall design and appeal.
Have you ever made a mistake by not cutting on bias when the style required it?
Share your experience and how it affected your design. I'll be in the comments as always

Thank you ! Please I want to ask; while drafting, the sleeve the shoulder point and the straight grain line from the bicep didn’t align…which of the lines should be used as the mid line?

Thank you so much

Pls I need answers
Why do 50 percentage of ladies in Nigeria that learned fashion and designer, that end up not having their own business
Thanks for this. Please, what would you consider a small or fuller Burt in inches?
God bless you ma
In front there's a dart coming from the shoulder. Do we hv to sew it but i cant see that in your sewn blouse
Boa tarde e muito obrigado por compartilhar seus conhecimentos, estou encantada com suas explicações , parabéns vc ensina muito bem. Gratidão🙏
I wish you could help us IN the U.S. by using INCHES. OUT HERE WE DON’T use CM
You’re saying with the next point is but you’re not saying what the point is
You’re saying what the numbers are, but you’re not saying what it is. You’re doing.
Hi WHY SID YOU MINUS 5cm from the 44cm at the knee???
I'll love to see a video of the Grain line tutorial.
hey thanks so much @thefashionarchitech ! please can you link me the second video for how you sewed it together? :)
Please can you make a video on pivoting of darts
No sound after 14:00 As a beginner it is important for me to not miss anything .😢
Is there any basic rule in dart manipulation??
Yes.....your style line must pass through the pivot point or dart apex
So helpful, which method is this😊
This is good but the cm and point this and that is confusion. I will try it out tho. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for this tutorial. I made a mini test and came out Wonderfully. Just a note, the bottom pieces slash line and putting them together confused me a little was just wondering if for future reference you can mark the center front clearly so that we can see the direction/top of the second pattern piece
But the tutorial is helpful
The way you folded it is a bit confusing, especially cuz of the cuts
Good day ma'am, I'm worried the shoulder dart will reduce the shoulder measurement of my client
No, the shoulder measurement can’t be affected if only the dart excess is manipulated.
@@Thefashionarchitect sorry for the disturbance please..does it mean I will add the dart allowance to the shoulder measurement?
To understand this better, you might need to get my online course. It is explained in detail there. Let me know if you’d need the link to get more information about it.
@@Thefashionarchitect yes let me have details about the course
I have problem balancing the front and back of my half length dress which of course affect the entire length of my dress. Could you please do a tutorial video on this More blessings❤
Very informative
Please I'm a beginner, how do you get your body measurement before dividing??
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته اختي الكريمة اريداقتناء هذا الكتاب وجعله حسنة جارية للك اريد تعلم الخياطة
You didn't start the drawing from scratch so am finding it difficult to understand
Hi have tried to purchase you course, but I was unsuccessful. What a pity.
Could you please tell why the back armhole circumference is turning out longer than the front armhole circumference in this bodice draft?
Thanks for the tutorial, ur pattern block is the best ,but pls we need skirt block to make full garment
Thank you ma'am. Your bodice patternmaking video was great! 👍
Something that always bothers me: why is bust measurement is divided by 4? My back is not the same with as my front. I'm a 32E bra size (i have narrow back. And shoulders). This would make my back too wide, but my front too tight. If we want to be precise, should we measure the back and front portions separately as well?
Great tutorial, thank you!
Please share measurement chart
Hi can someone also use a pattern with a shoulder dart
Have you any books for the methods.like this?If you have let me know. I would like to buy it.I am from sri lanka(asian country)
Good afternoon ma'am. I like to learn. Thank you ❤
I´m loving it. Finally something easy to understand. Many thanks!
