    The taser did not fail. Sergeant Spurlock was incapacitated by the taser before he was murdered by the shooting suspect who gained entry to his home under false/criminal pretense. That is called a ‘Stun & Kill’ and it is 101% illegal.

Personal story, I learned about this case in briefing the other day, about 5 hours later I had a similar situation where a woman held a pot of boiling water and threatened to throw it. Shooting her never crossed our minds. We were able to talk to her and eventually get her to a hospital. No use of force. If that shows where I stand on the situation.

    Quick fact and tid bit, as I’m from the Civil Air Patrol’s Lantana squadron (SER-FL-054) this squadron in the 1940s were patrolling the coastlines from enemy/German U-boats. Confirmed bombings and enemy kills of subs. At the time, it was the USAF Auxiliary and an all volunteer force, but the aircraft rotated over to FHP later on after some interagency rearranging. I believe the Army Air Force changed things up and then mothballed the Civil Air Patrol’s U-boat wings.

    Ok... so if its not your job to de-escalate... then as Ex Soldiers and Civilians... we should also have our guns at the ready when a Cop enters our homes without permission from me, right?

  • @thapeloankhamen5976
    @thapeloankhamen5976 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The Soldier was in his home. Being peaceful. Ex was leaving the home and didnt leave without causing disturbance. She got removed from home without injury. Somehow that becomes assault and Yet I never heard her say she wanted to press charges. Cops come to arrest the soldier for a non crime event, which I say because there is no evidence of a violent act was committed upon the EX... as far as we know she could've started punching the guy and he shoves her out the apt after. No cop witnessed any crime. Therefore... she was already leaving the home and he was done with the relationship also. Now... both persons are done... if Cops just did their job and helped the woman get her things... made sure the people were not causing a problem... then left the home... the soldier would still be alive. But the cops escalated this situation to make a fake arrest on a claim of a push. No physical damage was done... but a push to remove someone being violent or verbally abusive, off your property they are leaving, is the single act for an arrest. Lets ponder that foolishness and then we have to make sure this ideal is expressed to everyone, including officers and children who push each other over arguments daily. Nobody is arrested for a push. Security for Night clubs and private property push people everday and they are not arrested. A home owner should have the right to remove anyone from the property that is being displeasing and or violent or abusive, with reasonable force. Ex was not harmed. Police had no reason for an arrest. Police escalated this without merit. There was no present danger. Cops should go to prison. People are siding with cops because they are cowards and obviously against the Constitution. No cop followed the constitution here... the cops acted on their tyranny rules that obviously are against the 4th & 5th Amendment. None of this convo can be used because the soldier was never informed of his arrest, crime, or victim... then read miranda. None of that happened. So why come to the home under the guise of letting the Ex get her things... if you were going to arrest the soldier? Because cops are deceivers.

They love that rush of adrenaline, Its the worse addiction out there, I dare say worse than opiate crisis. Lots of cops are nothing but fiends. Youd be surprised, cops say they dont like it and yeah youd be right, but MOST of them cant wait and oh boy I mean, CANT wait to draw or get into a pursuit. Its fucking sick. Thank you all for your comments and interest in the procedures of the Icelandic police. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few points and provide some context that might help address your concerns. Firstly, it's important to understand that the law enforcement environment in Iceland is significantly different from that in the United States. Iceland has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, including gun-related crimes. This allows our police force to operate with protocols that prioritize safety and minimize the immediate use of firearms. Our high incident procedure, which includes controlled access to firearms, is designed to ensure that officers are fully prepared and informed before engaging in potentially dangerous situations. This preparation includes donning necessary safety gear and being briefed on the situation, which ensures that officers approach incidents with a clear understanding of the risks involved. The idea is not to delay response but to enhance it with preparedness and strategic planning. Several comments have mentioned the urgency of situations where "every second counts." I fully understand this concern, and our procedures are designed to balance quick response with the safety of both officers and civilians. Officers in Iceland have immediate access to non-lethal tools and are trained extensively in their use. Additionally, our dispatch system is efficient in providing the necessary authorization and information concurrently, minimizing any delay. The approach we use in Iceland reflects our commitment to de-escalation and the preservation of life. It's a system tailored to our specific context, where the prevalence of gun violence is low, and the need for firearms is less frequent. This system has proven effective, contributing to our low rates of gun-related incidents and ensuring that when firearms are used, they are done so with utmost responsibility and accountability. I understand that this approach might seem unfamiliar or even impractical from an American perspective, where the frequency and nature of violent encounters differ. However, it's crucial to recognize that different environments necessitate different approaches. What works in one country might not be suitable for another, and our methods reflect the unique context in which we operate. Thank you again for engaging in this discussion. I hope this explanation provides some clarity on why our procedures are structured the way they are and how they contribute to the safety and effectiveness of our law enforcement efforts.

    When you need a cop with a gun immediately because every second counts, the cops are on the side of the road somewhere trying to unlock the gun safe and put on their safety gear. Your body will be room temperature by the time they show up.

      @@BBG_Acorn Easy. While you're waiting for "permission" from a faceless government entity to gain access to a firearm to protect yourself, you may wind up dead because the alleged threat is already armed and ready to go.

      @@turkeyssrI see your point but this they clearly state that they get the permission at the same time they get informed of the threat, meaning they have no wait time, they are told “hey we need you here, now and here’s the code to the safe, and u will need your gun”. Now if he had stated that he would have to get to scene then raidio. In for permission and request the code and have to get that approved I would understand, but it isn’t. At the same time I see the possibility of that being the case where an officer shows up to what is supposed to be a calm situation and it escalates to a gun fight, but this is in Iceland where they have very different gun laws from the USA and a lower gun homicide than the USA, meaning they are less likely to encounter a scenario like that They also clearly articulate the fact that every car has them and that they are also required to put on full kit, this would also allow dispatch to inform the officer fully of what they are walking into. Which I am sure many of us would appreciate an officer showing up to the scene full prepared and aware of what they are walking into as apposed to an officer who is just to go somewhere with only their gun drawn and limited knowledge on the situation they are walking into. we have seen it to many times where many officers have shown up unprepared for what they are walking into, which not only puts their life at risk but civilians live aswell.

      @@BBG_Acorn everyone has the god given right to defend themselves. This means having the means to do so. This cop should not have to ask permission to defend himself. And no other human should have to ask to be able to protect ones own life and property

      @BBG_Acorn you're not taking into account the several minutes it takes to put on the mandatory safety gear. In a situation where the bad guy with a gun is threatening your life you don't have time for the good guy with a gun to take a pit stop to get suited up and unlock his gun. Literally every second is crucial. It's ridiculous that the police force is so fettered they can't carry a firearm.
