The Australian Water Partnership (AWP) is an Australian Government development cooperation initiative, bringing together public and private organisations from the Australian water sector with development partners in the Asia-Pacific. The AWP channel aims to share knowledge and current news and events with its partners and the international water community.
Young Water Professionals in the Pacific - Full video
Since 2016, the Australian Water Partnership and the Pacific Water and Wastewater Association have collaborated on the Young Water Professionals Program, addressing water challenges in Pacific islands driven by rising sea levels and climate change. The program has trained nearly 200 young professionals, equipping them with skills for resilient water management. The initiative focuses on practical and transdisciplinary approaches to tackle climate risks by promoting collaboration among various stakeholders. Participants gain expertise in problem-solving, project management, and decision analysis, helping them become the future water leaders in the Pacific supporting sustainable development goals (SDGs).
