Most days we had midge experiences, but they were only for specific stretches of hiking. I'd suggest getting a good-quality (midge-specific) face net, bringing gloves and long sleeves, and not stopping when there are many midges around. Enjoy the hike!

Most of the video (up until about 3:40) shows this trail from the Ahornbahn lift: www.komoot.com/tour/876265475?ref=itd&share_token=aGRCDCoETAIJVTF4OxjaFs7OcaxutSc0smAGpjQliAbEeJSOrT - I don't remember the signage but the trail is well delineated. With the Komoot app pulled up, you can easily follow your progress to ensure you go the right way. It's not a difficult hike but definitely has some uphill and downhill. One short section (maybe 30 mins) has hand cables because it's a sharp decent. Not a problem for people who are reasonably fit though. The big lake at the top of a mountain shown in 4:10+ is a different place (same region though). You can find it on Google Maps here: goo.gl/maps/iBvGMS5eLtrT6SEp8. We took the Pinkenbanh lift. There are lots of hikes but I can't suggest one since we went for rock climbing in the area (www.mayrhofen.at/en/stories/mountopolis-rock-climbing) and then meandered up to the lake.
