Here at The Department we're unabashed fans of Washington DC. It is a city of diversity, history, contradictions, beauty, tragedy, and style. We're comfortable there, whether it be the wide avenues and museums along the Potomac or the energy of a U Street club. We love the people, the food, and how every neighbourhood has its own unique energy.
One of our favourite neighbourhoods is of course, Georgetown. The shops, the architecture, and the history make it an essential stop whenever we are in town. And if Georgetown has an epicentre, a heart, we'd like to nominate Georgetown Tobacco.
The music in this film is "Descanso De Tela" by Chico Correa and Electronic Band (www.myspace.com/chicocorreaelectronicband)

The Department of Style is a field guide to the timeless, the adventurous, and the enthusiastic. We celebrate craft. We explore tradition. We find the creative imaginations that take classic forms and make them their own.
It is about understanding that in life, doing something right takes time, and skill, and effort. But therein lies the joy. Finding people who still do those things that way and telling their stories is the original Departmental mandate.

Find us at thedepartmentofstyle.com It was a gamble. What if you and a couple of old-car-loving pals held a show in the middle of rural Canada, far from any urban centre, down a back road, in an old frontier-style ghost town? And on top of that, what if you kept the focus tight, almost exclusive? Nothing after 1963. Traditional hot rods only. How successful could that be? As it turns out it was...
