I know I’ve probably said this before, but I really truly appreciate you taking the time to share these episodes out here. It is so fun to hear and see these episodes again, like visiting with old friends. Some of them I remember, and saw I don’t, but it is just so wonderful to see and hear these episodes again. Thank you so much for your willingness and your time to come out here and share these with all of us. I very much appreciate you and thank you.
Thanks, Eddie, for posting this. I haven't seen it in 36 years. It is a bit different than I remember; but, I always thought it was the highpoint of the Derek/Stacey storyline. Neither of us ever looked as beautiful--or as relaxed--for the camera...and with each other...ever...before or after. The banter was well written--and very sexy--to a point near the end where there's a moment in which I move towards her: "There's something in your hair...something..."; and, afterwards, after being so close to her...by any normal rules of the universe...I should have kissed her...urgently...which, would have led to one of the most epically intense sessions of romance the earth had yet been witness to. But, even as I, the actor, allowed myself free reign in movement...I found myself in a place where--ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPT--I could not do what comes naturally; because, I knew that Derek & Stacey's first kiss was scheduled for several days later. It was intended to be a Big Deal; so, I couldn't preempt all that by kissing her here. So...I backed off. It felt very weird in that moment not to. It would have been a perfect set up: we were half-naked, we were wet, there was a full moon...but...some things are set in stone. Hey! I didn't write that! Neither did I direct it. A day later, in a phone conversation with Head Writer Donna Swajeski, she told me that I came off looking somewhat dubious because I got so close...but DIDN'T kiss Stacey. I told her then that I wasn't in control. However, maybe she had a point: I shouldn't have taken Stacey's face in my hands; but, I couldn't NOT do it...and, once I did...I knew I was in trouble that I really couldn't get out of. Bottom line is...We should have re-shot it; and, over THAT I had no control. Oh, well. Still, what a pleasure it is to see this again after all these years. It is a comfort, in my dotage, to have evidence that I was once able to present as a young man in this way...and...of course...Hilary Edson was absolutely stunning...just...beyond words. One works really hard as an actor to achieve something of worth...that lasts. Because of the medium--and the technology--this won't last too long with very many people at all; but, I'll take it. Thanks, again, Eddie.
Thank you, Kevin, for your wonderful, thoughtful post! When I was in grade school, I was in and out of the hospital (and still am) and watched Another World to fill in the nurses, who called you Derek Swayze! I was about 10 years-old when this aired and could not wait for summer vacation, so I could watch Another World and both your and Stacey's characters. I was so sad when your character was no longer on Another World. Thank you for keeping me company in the hospital again at 46 years-old. With love and light, Chrissy 🕊
@@HummingbirdFeather Hi, Chrissy...Thank you for your very kind post. While I have no idea why you were (and are) frequently visiting the hospital, God does; and, I will be praying for you. We all have our various crosses to bear. Yours make me ashamed to complain about my own. I receive the kind wishes and reflect them back to you. May God Bless you!
Hi Kevin, hope you are doing well.🌞🌝 Thank you for your kind words and well wishes, which I am very grateful for as there is a social death that typically precedes the actual one. But I am thankful because I am learning to be a better unconditionally loving friend to myself.😊 Please, do not feel ashamed to complain. These illnesses taught me this, which I would like to share: please, take the time in your precious life to heal no matter how many years have passed or what anyone says and be as kind and compassionate to yourself as you are to others. From the 10-year-old inside my heart with love and light, Chrissy 🕊
@@HummingbirdFeather Hi, Chrissy. Perhaps you misunderstood my idiosyncratic way with language. I am married to an angel; and, I have many opportunities. I am doing well. So, while we all have our issues--or, crosses to bear--there is always someone, somewhere, who is experiencing more trying circumstances. Whatever our individual condition might be, complaining only amplifies our struggles; so, it is far better to accentuate the positive--as you are obviously doing. I appreciate your taking the time to wish me well. I shall continue to pray for you to receive many blessings from God.
Eddie, thank you so much for uploading anything that you do. My parents and I were in the middle of 88, and that was such a good year and then it stopped. And then we've been watching these as you're adding them. We're so grateful for any videos that you upload. 89 was such a good year and it's a shame all these years of this soap aren't available somewhere.
At 38:47, the actress that plays the doctor who examines Nicole Love is the same actress that played Magda, the housekeeper/nanny to Miranda on Sex and the City.
Hi eddie thanks for the upload so sad it is that these are the final episodes with Doug watson in them. But I am having issues with evil Donna swajeskis messing with the history harding Lemay created concerning Mac and iris. Plus the flash back scenes trying to make Doug Watson look younger. So first of all as harding intended iris was suposed to be the same age as rachel. And second of all Doug Watson did not look like that at all even In the 1950s or even 1960s Doug Watson was the Exact same age as my late grandmother who was also born in 1923. So if Rachel and iris are suposed to be the same age as my mother or her two older brothers that means we are looking at scenes from the 1950s and 1960s God such slopiness. Just look at Doug Watson in julios ceaser against marlon Brando that was the 1950s and if I am not mistaken Doug Watson was on the soap the secret storm in the 1960s hope this helps.
you know, upon rediscovering these 1988-1991 AW episodes after 30 years, I've come to the realization that AMANDA was a SERIOUSLY UNLIKEABLE, MASSIVE BRAT. it's a testament to the likeablity of the actress playing her that it took three decades for this to be clear.
I can understand your viewpoint as this headwriter Donna swajeski and others after her wrote amanda in a very unlikable way. As for sandra Ferguson now Robinson I see her portrayel of amanda as I bit like bev McKinsey when she played iris which was until 1981 in both Texas and aw. And of course bev I loved as Alexandra Spaulding on guiding light. As for Amanda I hated Brian Greene as Sam fowler and I hated what he as an actor did to aw and how the show ruined Sam and Amanda. Thats just my thoughts plus ruining Jason frame Nicole love. Kathleen and Cass later John and sharlene. So much crap.
@@ethanculbreth2466 ahh makes sense now your comment yes the writing of the charecter after sandra left in 1993 was terrible but in no way was it Christine tuccis fault I know carlolyn culliton actaully was fixing it with Christine tucci then wrote amanda out I think the most disgusting one was 1997 with Laura moss playing amanda and that whole Hadley Prescott storyline. Which was worse than watching Amanda and evan or Amanda with Grant Harrison. Now sandra did come back in early 1998 "but rather than fix amanda and Sam it was amanda and camerin for which I never liked either and don't gete started on the other Sam fowlers but Brian Greene getsy ire and was the, worst miscast Sam fowler. With his overly dramatic sexaulized Sam fowler who just seemed to run around losing his temper one minute and the next having sex with amanda. He was terrible Danny merkal he was a nice guy but again not the right actor to step into Robert Kelker Kelly's shoes as Sam the right actor was an actor named Andy kavovit for 1991 who was well known for playing Paul stenbeck Ryan in atwt. As you see right when they were casting for Sam fowler number 4 back in 1991 Andy kavovit was bieng written out as Paul Ryan and let go because atwt at the time could not find a replacement for melenie Smith as Emily Stewart Andy even won an Emmy in 1990 for his performance as Paul Ryan. Hint Andy's performances as Paul were a lot like Robert Kelker Kelly's performances as Sam. Hint 1988 winters ball with Robert Kelker Kelly. Andy would play the same thing a year later at atwt with the better written Doug marland episodes that aired around Thanksgiving 1989 you can see those clips titled Thanksgiving 1989 clip 2. There is also the clip titled Paul's through with oakdale. From 1991. And hint Andy was way better than Brian Greene in the episodes that aired the last week of August 1991. As Andy like Robert Kelker Kelly could do playful and goofy too and I think was a bit better at it than Robert Kelker Kelly. Now face wize he looked young but height wize was not short at all and acting wize very experienced he had Colleen zenk play his mother. And she still talks about him Years later
Iris is such a blood sucker Mac’s and Rachel children are the worse set of people I ever see to have such a perfect father who has done nothing wrong in his life it’s a pity his children turn out the way they did money grabbing hateful set of people only think about house and company .
I can't be the only one who hates this revisionist storyline where Jake and Vicky had sex. They never did. The writers retroactively introduced it with a fake flashback. Honestly I almost gave up on the show at that point, years later it really went off the rails with Ellen coming back as Marley, holding Vicky captive, Donna running down Marely who she thought was Vicky, Donna sleeping with Jake. Jake raping Marley. I did a fast exit from the show at that point. While i am at it Marely should never have been with Jake to begin with because he was her sister's boyfriend.
Okey so now I’m understanding more about Rachel’s graving process I understand now that it wasn’t so easy for her to let go why I understand because I’ve been through the same situation as her in my life…. My husband died far away from me too so now I got a better understanding and then to fall in love with Carl must have been not so easy either been as Carl was Mac’ enemy I understand the dilemma she as to go through but the fact is Carl really did get to love her ❤❤
The first clue of The Chief
0:40. Love lobe love Ada
Eugene Byrd as Kyle was awesome. And...at 27:28 he checks out Stacey's backside.

About 8:21 Vivian talking to Iris she refers to her as Mrs. Cory. Blooper
Is that sam from passions
This is such a great episode, with Donna’s attempt to make friends with Felicia, and Vicky doing her best to maintain her standing with Rachel.
Yes! So many really good scenes in this one!
I think Anne Howard was excellent!

the show was so well written with great acting lots of eerie intrigue.
"Pittyful little Shanty". My sides😂😂
Dennis Wheeler did NOT age between 1979 and 1991. 😂😂
18:02 really good scene w/ Amanda and Vicky, that was the sad end of their friendship.
11:43 this interaction was so good LD and SS had such awesome chemistry- they were really superb in this scene!

Hey Eddie I was just wondering were is my episode 😂 thanks good day .
1:08 Another World opening. ER style and yes NBC knew about it and so did the creators of ER.
So it’s a long time Vicky is running with her kids 😂😂😂
In the looney room 😂😂😂
Where's Nicole
Josie and Reuben remind me of Jenny and Jesse on AMC.
Russ was so nasty….suprising, he was always so kind.
