Hey man first of all I absolutely love this video I have probably seen it more than ten times since it came out and it keeps giving me some immaculate vibes so yeah hats off to you! Secondly I was wondering if you went into this trip with a script in mind or did you just go out and about and shoot as much video as you could to then make an edit out of it when returning? I'm asking because I keep running into the problem of going on a trip with no script and ending up with 100's of unusable video's lacking storytelling or making a script and having to 'stress out' during my trip because i need to take those shots. I hope you can give me some insights on your process, thanks in advance and keep doing what you're doing <3
Wow! appreciate the kind words. No script used, I think the key was actually not shooting everything I saw. I probably ended up using about 80% of the shots I took in the final video. What was structured though, was the trip itself, every route was planned ahead and each day we knew exactly how long and where we were ending up. So I made sure to get a good amount of coverage for each day. For example: Starting out the day and stretching, beautiful landscapes during the trek and arriving to the final destination. Also I tried to catch "real" moments of myself and my friends - and not only mountains and lakes. Before starting the edit i picked out a bunch of songs that I liked and felt would match the vibe I wanted to create with a wide tonal range: exciting, silly, serious, inspiring etc. Then while editing I try to create contrast between those emotions, to try to lead the viewer to feeling a wide range of emotion, and not just one (that's boring). A lot of the work is testing things out and seeing how they make me feel. I just try to make the thing I would enjoy the most and usually other people resonate with that. Hope this was helpful!
@@Ariel_Frimer Thanks for the valuable insights, I really appreciate it! I’m looking forward to see some new content from you!
is this shot on A7C OR A7CII?

Wow! I found a really beautiful video, clicked subscribe, and there were 99 people. I'm honored to be your 100th subscriber. Your TMB video is like a documentary movie film. awesome!🥰
Appreciate it so much! 100! Let’s gooo
Really thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. Please what to buy as a Sim Card? Can I find one in Chamonix?
Hmm I also tried to find a SIM card, had no luck finding one fast enough to shoot 4K
Great video, thank you! May I ask, did you reserve your own accommodations or did you use a service? TIA
Thanks! All reserved on my own, it’s a little tricky but managed to figure it out
Amazing, Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. Sub & 👍163
Thank you so much 👍

Something bout this gives the Hollywood feel to it. Now I want one to go with my FX30.
Thanks! Good work with light and a nice color grade goes a long way. Fx30 seems like a great camera for the job. My a7c only has 8bit color, but works great for me.
Really good mate🙌🏼!! Just curious how you are able to set a perfect WB every time...!? I seem to struggle with my a7c, I get to much magenta and reds in almost all my shots... Any tips (white card isn´t helping that much...)? Maybe a video of how you set your camera up and how you transform your footage in post is possible:)? Keep it up💪🏼
Thanks! Nothing really special done with WB, just set manually so I don’t get anything too crazy. Also I recorded externally on an atomos ninja monitor, which boosted the quality a bit.
Your film makes a difference among those dozens of TMB documentaries I watched! Patient cinematography, carefully chosen colours, slight stage directions and slow movements - very well done! Can't wait for my TMB this september.
Thanks so much!
this is so so so inspirational!! and more hiking films please! you deserve way more than 87 subs!
Appreciate it!
A few more comments … the colors, sounds and shots all have their own style. You aren’t simply copying Craig Adams or something
Appreciate it!
You are super talented!
Thank you so much!
Can u share the video settings that you use? I just bought A7C and Im still new😊
Yeah! Filmed on HLG3 picture profile, try to overexpose a little to get rid of grainy shadows, and then bring it down in post. Other thing I’d recommend is to always shoot at 1/50 shutter speed to get natural motion blur.
Your brother is kinda crazy (in a good way) 🤣🤣🤣 I had a few laughs Great filming, montage and soundtrack!
Haha I agree, thanks for the kind words!
Hello. Can i know which dates u went in Sept? I am going this year. 😀
Yeah sure! Started sep 8th
Great movie, congrats my friend
Thank you so much!
24-70 sigma looks really wide!
Definitely my favorite lens! Yeah the 24mm look on full frame is a great wide focal length.
Breathtaking! The sign at the start was also a nice touch 💚
Appreciate it! Not everyone notices the fine details, glad you did!
I just discovered your way sign 😂 great detail
Yesss! You noticed 😂 now it was all worth it
Great work and stunning pictures. I especially like the slight retro look of the colour grading. fits perfectly to the scenery of mont blanc. did you do it manually or used a LUT? a 4:3 ratio would have made it even more intense. would love to see video of the process you announced in another comment. keep it up. looking forward for next videos.
Thanks so much! As part of my color grading process I use a film emulation power grade called Cineprint16 by cinematographer Tom Bolles in davinci resolve, which is much more customizable than a “baked in” LUT. on top of that I do manual changes for each specific shot.
What a cool video! your 47th sub here :) What was your camera gear - what was the weight of all that (including tripods, extra batteries etc) Would love to know everything about the process specifically the storyboarding before you left.
Thanks for the sub! I’m planning on making a video breaking down exactly what I took. I used my Sony a7c and a sigma 24-70 lens for the whole video, I also have a Sennheiser mke 400 as a shotgun mic. The weight of all the camera gear was about 3kg and my backpack overall around 11kg (including camera gear).
Flipping hell , Such a Great Video loving it
Appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed 😊
Wonderful! Did the TMB 2 months earlier. Watched tens of videos of TMB, and yours is just wonderful!
Appreciate it!
I am now your 37th subscriber and your number 1 fan. I dont know how this video with no dialogue but the raw sounds of nature and therapuetic music hit me so hard to live life the fullest.
Wow Jovy! I really appreciate your kind words. 37 is my lucky number! Thank you so much!

hi, really great video, I wanted to know what to film you with and what are the parameters to get this color rendering? THANKS
Thanks! All shot on my Sony a7c with a Sigma 24-70 lens. As for color I used HLG3 color profile and graded all in Davinci resolve.
So much beauty you captured, with intelligence and sensitivity. Love the scattered humorous moments as well as the tender ones. I appreciate the way you timed the music and the moments of silence. ❤❤❤
Hands down the besi video on the internet. Can't belive I see all that with my own eyes
Hands down best comment in the world.
What an amazing video! I'm lucky to have such a talented brother. Can't wait for the next adventure ❤️
Love you! ❤️
רמה גבוהה!
תודה רבה!
הסרט הכי טוב שראיתי 😮
כיף לשמוע! תודה!
Excellent job, what lens did you use in the shot where Yakov was punching the air?
Thanks! I used the Sigma art 24-70 f2.8, probably around 24-35 on that specific shot
Amazing 😮
Seriously great stuff.
Thanks Dylan!
This is beautiful color grading how do you do it?
Great work!
Storytelling, visuals, camera movement, editing and sound design are all great in this film. Love your work! What LUT did you use to colour grade this video btw?
Appreciate the kind words! I use a powergrade called Cineprint 16 by Tom Bolles.
Ran into your boxing film and came to watch this film - really enjoyed the jazz and chaotic flow to it - you really nailed the tone - hope to see more like this! I make short films as well, I’ve just filmed one about a young painter in Sweden, I’d greatly appreciate it if you checked it out, thank you! :)
ice work and great A7C for cinematic film
Thanks!
It looks amazing! It's hard to believe it's а7с ! Make a video tutorial of how you painted this video! I'll be waiting!
Thanks! Just released another video graded similarly, hopefully a color grading tutorial will be out soon!
what camera did you use?
Sony a7c
Great video! The A7C is a fantastic camera for me as well. What lense and which camera settings did you use?
Appreciate it! I used the Sigma Art 24-70 2.8 for 90% of this video, for a couple of the wider shots I used the sigma 14-24. The picture profile I used was HLG 3.
