It doesn't have to be yarn under. However, I'd go down a hook size or 2, to lessen the space between stitches.

Hi. Thanks for visiting my channel. I know people have made a circle with maybe half or single crochet for the center. You could Ch2 or 4 and maybe put a small amount of stitches in the center, try 4 to 6 stitches and then in the 2nd round apply the same stitches. I hope this helps.

I just press her back and press down. Her oval bottom shape should sit. I shape with my hands too.
