Its not about mac mini m4 can play or cannot play. Its about display and mac's matching. All the testing video for gaming are not clear because they play the games with lower resolution to show that they are getting high fps and high refresh rate. Some people on reddit says if you run the game with high resolution(4k, 3840x2160) you get low fps (like 5-10). So issue is find the right monitor for mac (: if there is no good monitor, there no need to buy a mac mini m4, TMO.

@@pantechnia I bought a fairly cheap one from Ikea. Best one ive ever had. Paid about 80 USD for it. I dont remember what its called though.

For some people their back will also hurt from standing very long. I also have a standing desk so I do alternate between sitting and standing. The chair provides support better than most others and is only part of one’s pain management plan.

Seems to work fine on multiple monitors.

Actually it’s Unix, that both Mac OS and Linux are based on and there’s also more Linux in Windows than most realize but I understand your point. I’ve been in IT for 23 years and almost the entire time I’ve been supporting windows systems. Still have a couple of windows computers that I still use. Nothing wrong with liking more than one OS. @@Ulthane-40kYou know, Apple isn’t purposely slowing down new phones, likewise Samsung - the new updates slow the phone down because they require more from the phone to function. New updates also require more storage, which older phones usually get filled up easily with, so limiting the storage limits the OS capability. Older iPhone batteries don't hold charges as well over time. Weak batteries also cause devices to run slower to prevent unexpected shutdowns. The solution? Don’t update your old phone to the newest possible, even though you can. Be smart and not dumb. This is all logic. Don’t jump to misleading conclusions without any base on why they slow down phones. Also, keep in mind that it’s not only Apple doing this, but others do as well (such as Samsung and Google).

This one tends to run a little hot so I had set the fan control to maximum to cool it down as quickly as possible.

As with any OS once the parent company of an OS like Apple or Microsoft stops supporting the OS you may miss out on later security updates but with a patcher like Open Core you may be able to use and update some of your installed applications for a longer period of time. Of course everyone’s mileage may vary. I do still appreciate and love to have the option to keep older Macs running and not becoming e-waste. I also would not recommend running mission critical applications or keeping sensitive information on a computer that is not secure.

That’s a 2019 15 inch MacBook Pro right? How do you like it?

I used open core legacy patcher. dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/. It’s not too difficult but you do need to be careful. Apple most definitely won’t do this on its own. I would also recommend upgrading your hardware as much as possible. If you have a hard drive replace it with a ssd and max out the ram. I have five Mac’s ranging from 2009 to 2012 all using open core to have them running Sonoma. Lots of fun.

These older Macs still have some life and it’s a lot of fun extending their life and cutting back on e-waste.

It’s well worth the money in my opinion.
