A lot of people were shitting on Tyra because she’s technically plus-sized now and years ago when she hosted America’s Next Top Model she would criticize any plus sized girls. I don’t think young girls and young women today realize that ANTM and how Tyra was with them….only a small fraction of what the modeling industry is actually like. In the early 2000’s we had this fantasy was modeling was a magical thing, and something that so many girls wanted to be but…..unfortunately this is the real world and in reality, the modeling industry is way harsher than what we think and shows like America’s Next Top Model are nowhere near as tough as how the actual industry truly is. We all know how Slavic models went viral a while back because of their beauty…..so many of the models were abused by the industry, and in fact I’m willing to guarantee that those Slavic models would’ve actually preferred America’s Next Top Model more. This generation is too soft, and expects everything to be all sunshine and rainbows but that’s not how it works. If modeling agencies and scouts feel that you’re not good enough to be a model even if you look the part….they’re gonna tell you to your face, and even if you do make it they’re gonna be super tough on you. Tyra was only preparing us for what the real world is like, and those who still criticize her for it…..clearly can’t handle the real world.
