Dope. this is a basic splice. Just like an electrician would make when wiring your home's lighting circuits. The better the splice, the less chance of any malfunctions. Few lil tips- some cheap data wire, like the wires inside cheap phone chargers or inside RCA plugs(aka composite wire)... is sometimes is coated in an almost invisible clear insulation. So I run it through a lighter flame real quick to remove any possibilities of insulation. Then splice it. I would probably use a straight crimp here or a wago but wire nutts will work fine or u can solder it like dude did if u want it bulletproof. Then I will make an S shape with the wire with the splice inside the S. Then I tape it all up. So if I pull on the wire, no pressure would ever be on my splice. They also sell vinyl/rubber sleeves that u can heat up that will shrink over the splice if u want it professional in appearance. I guess Heat shrinks their called. And if your connecting wire has the green & white wires then just splice them as well. The white is a neutral & green is the grounding wire. U really don't want to cut the ground wire out. Like ever. That's the wire that tells your breaker to turn off (trip) when you are getting shocked or before the wire heats up and gets hot enough to start a potential fire. So leave the green wire in if possible. However, the lil plugs (bricks) that we plug out charger wires into are actually lil transformers. They step the 120 volts from your homes receptacles down, all the way to like 12 volts by the time it hits your charging wire. So it's not severely dangerous to operate with an ungrounded phone charger but it could still shock u a lil. Feel Something like a static shock probably. Still, the potential is always there for disaster. The chances that something could hurt your phone are a lil bit higher. But yeah.. Really I'm just an electrician and a nerd about this shit so aye... 👍 Rock Out With Ground Out!
