Mindful Model Maker
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 30 ม.ค. 2023
This channel is about how much stimulation of the mind can be gained through Model making and viewing other people's models as well. you don't have to be the best model maker, its just about indulging and adsorbing yourself into an interest, it take your mind off every day things and kind of gives you a freedom, even if you have some form of disability. It gives you the escape we all need. If you have never done any kind of Model making before, have a look at the vast amount of videos that are available on youtube. buy a beginners Airfix kit with paint and glue, and give it ago. This is how I make models and this is how I relax and enjoy my spare time. And I wish to show others how to do the same.

Never happened to me before...
You are very lucky
That's a great little loco
Yes very nice and well made
You can do it
I will do my best
@mindfulmodelmaker5602 👍
@mindfulmodelmaker5602 you should definitely repaint it maby blue and wasp stripes
I will see how it goes
That is a very smooth running old loco
I need to get the voltage up.
Is that at Headcorn aerodrome?
Hi yes it was the model show at Headcorn aerodrome
Interested to know how you get on with this. Thinking of getting the same setup due to price point so please keep us posted and thankyou for the content, the effort is appreciated 👍
It is good and worth doing all the modifications bit by bit.
The timber planks look really nice, as does the brickwork. Do you plan on weathering the building after the paiting or will you keep it pristine and let nature do the work? (Off topic but your videos help immensly in destressing and finding inspiration to work on my own stuff. )
Hi I will paint it may add some small amount of weathering.l am so glad you get pleasure from my videos.i do this hobby to motivate myself.thanks Robin
Good to see the loco working like before the regauging. Can't wait to see it run on your garden railway 😊
Yes I will give it a run very soon.
Hi. What track are you using outside please?
Hi I get it from a company on eBay called ECR 45mm plastic track.thanks Robin.
@mindfulmodelmaker5602 thank you
Thanks for the forecast! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
I am sorry I have no idea.
Be aware this is a scam
Who makes the model?
P.S modes.
Great short, where did you get your tracks from?
ECR on ebay
Such a familiar sight to any Dublo fan

Ok thanks
That's nene valley railway that's for sure
Yes I always enjoy time there
The Handrails are really good. That is a nice little loco
Thanks they have a jig that comes with the loco for bending
I'm sure you've posted it before, but I can't seem to find it, where did you get your track? Great short, especially for those of us with bad knees, thanks!
Hi the company is called ECR they are on eBay and advertise in Garden Railway thanks.
You need a red line around cut away edge
Hi yes that is to be done soon, thanks
Start collecting more and more don't stop keep collecting!! Its hreat stuff
I don't think I will ever stop collecting, thanks
That is spot on, thanks
A good hobby is both a distraction, and the opposite of a distraction... Something to focus on intensely and fully enjoy, while also escaping from the daily grind of real life. I find that taking time to solve model problems can help calm me down to be able to handle anxiety-inducing real problems. 👍
That is so true
I’m oliver
Hi Oliver
I know
Thanks

Thanks
You are not mindful
Why do you think that I am not Mindful
Very good
Thanks
That's great!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks there will be more
Fantastic idea!👍
Thanks it's an idea I have had for a long time.
Good idea! I get my crushed limestone ballast from a local landscape supply center, about $2 USD per 5-gallon bucket. (But I have to bring the bucket!)
I think on a narrow gauge line nothing looks out of place.
3:35 I think this may be what is happening on my garden railway. I have one curve that I suspect is under gauge because commercial wheelsets ride up and derail as if they are hitting an obstacle, but my homebuilt wheelsets pass through fine. I didn't have my calipers with me to check though.
Yes it worth checking,I have changed wheels before and then all is well
@@mindfulmodelmaker5602 That's what I'd usually do, but this is a motor block with no room for adjustment... I think this means there's some track maintenance in my near future!
I've been 3D printing various bits and pieces of track including an array of the LocoRemote stuff. It really does take a long time to print, to the point where it's probably faster to buy some rail and lay it by hand.
I think you are right, it just depends on how quick you want it completed.
great vid , glad I found you
Thanks, I just love the models, the value for money is great.
I've been building my garden railway as cheap as I can, so I bought a bundle of used O-gauge stainless track to use with 15mm:1ft scale models. You can say 'rickety' again! If I'd seen that track you're using I probably would've gone to 45mm instead as it's a lot more common in my area.
It is hard to make your mind up as to what gauge to use I went for the 45 mm for the price
@@mindfulmodelmaker5602It was such a difficult decision! I do feel justified though because I've found more deals on O gauge bogies and wheelsets whereas it's been a lot harder to find used/cheap 45mm parts. Do you happen to know who made your track? I didn't catch if you named them in the video.
Tried to order 1mm Diamantes. $3 USD per card, $37 shipping to the USA..........hmm, who needs rivets anyway LOL
They are used in nail art for decorating ladies finger nails
Very cool!
Thanks
Just found your channel. I have the same PS loco - like what you've done with the rivets. Mine has some, but not as many! I elected to go the 16mm route, as I couldn't find affordable 45mm track at the time. I did find some all plastic track similar to yours, so I may venture outdoors at some point. Look forward to following your progress. Cheers
I am glad you like the channel,I have always tried to find a Way of having a railway that you can enjoy without costing the earth 👍
Thanks for the update it's an interesting model and it's going to look lovely when it's done. All the best from Canada.
Thanks I am glad you like it.
Amazing accuracy. Very detailed model. I'm from india and want to build these models as well..
Yes they are old but very rewarding to make.
@@mindfulmodelmaker5602 could you tell me from where I might buy these ?
I started collecting almost two years ago, and decided to go for 3 rail. I like the diecast engines, and the noise you get from the tracl. Modern issues may be more detailed but I'm happy with these. I love everything 1950s.
Yes that is the very reason I got into it
I think converting a Deltic to 3 rail would be challenging as the chassis are completely different mouldings.
You would need to experiment with the position of the pick ups
@@mindfulmodelmaker5602 You would need to drill through the chassis.
Congratulations! It DID move by itself. Maybe there’s some water getting in, or a patch of card that is soaking up a bit of water? I’d try a bit more varnish.
I will try and seal it better thanks
Its really good, it will need water proofing from the inside as well and a tiny bit of weight in the front should level it up.
Thanks for that lovely video. I have been collecting Dublo 3 rail for a few years now and I love this stuff. The prices are so reasonable and you can get some great bargains but the best thing is that all the items are bullet proof and will last forever if properly looked after and maintained. There's such a charm to old Dublo stuff and the simplicity and ease of maintenance makes operating them a real joy. Thanks!
I just enjoy the sound they make as they clatter around
Will this work for o gauge as well?
Hi yes I have done it on 16mm
@mindfulmodelmaker5602 thank you so much
I have enjoyed your video and it really helps me with my recovery from my brain tumour and stroke as I try to get back to my modelling I mention my illness so you know who is watching and why thank you Just a suggestion for some extra detail A arfix raf refuelling set for a petrol delivery Also fire sand buckets was necessary All oil drums weeped so apool of oil at the base Hope you didn't mind thank you 😊
Thanks nice of you to comment
Really interested in this conversion. Just having a go at it myself so following with u h interest.
It is no as hard as you think
Very informative. So much misinformation around and you simlified it. Where can I find the conversion kit if they are available. Haven't been able to find any after ages of searching. Hopefully this site is still monitered. Thanks for your effort. 8:01

I am getting all the Micromodels I can to build a micro railway
Hello from the US. I've subscribed and liked because I'm in the "gathering the resources" stage of re-entering paper model building. In 1982 I built a Dover Publishing Company Spirit of St. Louis and hauling truck combination kit. I remember the cardstock as being of very good card thickness in that no additional backing was needed. As I was just watching this video and seeing your use of various dowels, brush handles, and other sized items, I'd pause for a bit and scramble around my place for different sized diameters. I felt like I was on a Scavenger Hunt again from the 1950's! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks I am glad you are enjoying your model making
