For those of you who wanna know more about us -
Pinpoint Wildlife is a channel my girlfriend and I made for education and entertainment with both wild and captive animals (also sometimes plants). We've both been into animals ever since we were little and our passion has stayed the same. Feel free to leave any criticisms in the comments of our videos we actually like reading them.
-note: I do not have a business email atm so for any personal questions pm @pinpoint_wildlife on Instagram

What is the best way to pick a mushroom?
"In my opinion, there's no definitive right or wrong answer to this question. Sometimes, pulling might be the better option, while in other cases, cutting the stem is preferred." These are my claims backed by the scientific data I was able to gather. Let me know what you think of this in the comments, Also sorry for the lack of uploads. Lots of love to all my supporters. -Dan

Symbiosis Explained
มุมมอง 8036 หลายเดือนก่อน
Symbiosis; like when spiderman merged with venom to make one symbiotic organism?? Well kind of but not quite. Think of symbiosis as a 'catch-all' term for all creature relationships over a decent length of time. These relationships are grouped into one of 6 possible categories: Mutualism, commensalism, parasitism, neutralism, amensalism, and competition. 📍Socials~ Instagram: @igkowalski Pinpoin...
Bats: The most misunderstood animal
มุมมอง 8027 หลายเดือนก่อน
Bats, noone likes bats; they carry diseases like rabies, they fly unpredictably and they're more or less birds from the underworld. But as it turns out they aren't so bad after all. Bats play a crucial role in the environment. 📍Socials~ Instagram: @igkowalski Pinpoint Wildlife // BATS 🔍Sources~ www.merlintuttle.org/floral-adaptations-to-bats-may-guide-our-future/ www.sciencedirect.com/science/a...
The second largest rodent in North America

Today I found a wild North American Porcupine. The North American porcupine (Erethizon dorsatum), also known as the Canadian porcupine, is a large quill-covered rodent in the New World porcupine family. It is the second largest rodent in North America after the North American beaver (Castor canadensis) 📍Socials~ Instagram: @igkowalski Aishah's Instagram: @lil_gecko_queen Pinpoint Wildlife // Th...

Really well crafted video with great animations! Yes, mushrooms are born to die and were here millions of year before humans and will be here millions of years after regardless of how foragers harvest some of them. The only thing I take issue with is that a single morel does not release billions of spores, it's more like hundreds of thousands. Another point worth mentioning is that trampling inhibits the growth of the fungus by means of soil compaction inhibiting the growth of hyphae as well as by crushing any mushroom primordia when they emerge.
Pullout gang 🔥🍄✌️
It's really about keeping dirt and tiny debris out of the gills and saving you lots of wasted time.
Rino car💀🙏
The way I heard this was when you pull it exposes the mycelium to contamination by bacteria.
bullcrap
I think mycelium probably the coolest part of the whole process its so little understood as you stated. Your gunna go viral fs, fire ass vid.
brain blast
One thing I’ve noticed help with mushroom patches regardless of if you pick or cut it you can tap the mushroom before you pick it to release the spores, the next time you come there will be more mushrooms
This is sooooo underrated
Really nice video! I appreciate a lot how you explain the anatomy of the Mushroom at its differences to plants. From all I saw the best video explaining this😁
this is so fire dude
Nice to see your still posting, will never forget them papa John days with ya. Hope life treating u well man

Great video
In the Philippines we call that bariirong and I have a rhinoceros beetle
Is it dead?

Fuck bats.
I was fishing in a pond and every where I stepped in the grass there were like 5 of them. And it’s a pretty big pond
As pets and also I found over 50,000
I have over 20
If you live in Nova Scotia Canada, you have so much
Is that the biggest they can get?i just wanna know cus i have one
In south New Jersey, for only one or two days in the Fall, my friends and I (age10-12), would find oil beetles that appeared out of nowhere in the mowed field behind my house. Never saw them at any other time of year; never saw them moving normally. What's weird is that they could barely move, even though the temperature was only mildly cool, and we couldn't figure out why they even showed up. I think the idea that getting the oil on your skin produces huge blisters is a myth. We used to collect them with our bare hands, occasionally getting the oil on our skin, wiping it off without any effect. About time I researched this.
He's not fresh out of the egg he looks at least a year old
My friend found it on the floor at school
I once had an beetle for an pet poor guy died.😭😭😭
To me they superficially look like infant rattlesnakes but without the rattle, in terms of their scaling and coloration. But I'd be more worried about their bite and possible infection, and their skunk-like noxious emission. They are kind of cute though, as far as snakes go. I'm not a snake person, obviously.
i found one a few years ago, it was bleeding yellow stuff from its joints but it didn't cause any blisters.
Is bro alive??
He was actually lol
Definitely seen and held a few wondering what they were. Also, I have the remains of something ive never been able to identify. Multiple segmented, flat, legless, something or other that was "inching" its way across a gravel road by Lonestar lake in Kansas..
0:40 such majesty…
This was a great creative video! Keep it up
I need more god damn it
What's the tune in the background called?
Million Dollar baby
Garage is it what is called annoying garage song
This is the first mushroom recipe I’ve seen that I would actually like to try they look really good
Are u sure it's not poisonous
you saw them ate it right?
morels are one of the safest mushrooms to forage for because they have a very unique look, and there are no poisonous species that look similar to them
Are u sure it's not poisonous
The bug bit was great. Also do you have any tips on the difference between morels and false morels?
For sure, the easiest way to tell is to inspect the stem if it's hollow you're in the clear.
what do they taste like?
It's Hard to explain but almost like bacon combined with a slight earthy taste. I used to hate eating mushrooms but these are really good just make sure you cook all the way.
@@pinpointwildlife7202 i wish i have the knowledge on foraging mushrooms, theres a lot of meat tasting ones but i couldnt tell what kills me or not on the fly like you guys
@@KipaYumiya yeah sometimes I forget that I've been doing it for so long it's a confusing hobby for other people. My best advice is to set out for one edible mushroom species and do research on how the poisonous look-a-likes are different. Like for instance morels are always hollow from stem to cap but false morels are not.
Nature's drumsticks
For real 🤣
This video is underrated
more please! and maybe longer videos. You're funny and informative.
Venom is depending on what version, the symbiote gets a host and gets to function and be healthy, and the host gets super powers
i got this vid in the low view count 3rd vid in recommended tab, this is gas. awesome channel
That's sick, I'm glad you got to me
The biggest youtubers I know of didn't start with even a quarter of this quality. I rarely subscribe to channels however this feels like an investment keep it up!!
Thank you, that's means a lot 😊
Menudo
12yrs ago, my cousin ate poison mushroom and stayed in ICU for a week. He changed afterwards, mentally not as sharp as before, very foggy when he is tired. Still hiking and still eating wild mushroom though.
