Looks like you put the bead on backwards (big hole first) is that correct? To give a little more space for the gills and flash?

What tool did you use to cut the thread? It had a yellow body and looked a little like a screwdriver or chisel.

Great fly and seems like top notch materials in kits, but you really need a macro lens and zoom in on the fly when tying. Very difficult to see exactly what you’re doing.

I think I am going to start with this kit or Ring of Fire cause I think the fish on my coast won't be able to pass'er up!

What hook was that? Size? All that. I’ve got the togens kit, well one so far that covers a variety of flys. Was this a kit specifically for the copper John? Or the kit that is on Amazon that covers like five different types?

Why use the dubbing if you were going to cover it with foam. Did it really make any difference to the body size?

Idk why I cant tie these and make them look right. It may be in part because I almost never tie nymphs without a bead, but I absolutely cannot get the thorax/head to look right with these. And I've got like 4 colors of this dubbing. Part of the problem is the only curved hooks I have are scud hooks and it's a pain in the ass tying anything other than scuds because of the shank angling back down before the hooks eye, where as other curved nymph hooks are pretty much done curving by the time you get to the eye
