I am forever in debt to Luke Bullen, Mescaleros drummer for taking me back stage to meet Joe. We later adjourned to the local Public House where I fired many questions at Joe. He was gracious to answer every one of my questions and told me things I will take to the grave! God bless you Joe!
Vello Ruus Late reply, But yes a true man of the people, fucking legend. My only regret being i never saw The Clash i was too young but seen all the other incarnations the members made.
Hi anegokoro, thanks for posting these vids, I was there that night and only had a digital camera, which could take pics but no sound. Got a camcorder now, wish I knew what to film with it. I did film a 1 hour video in The Priory in Acton when they did a Benefit gig for the Haitian earthquake survivors. I only went to set up the chairs, but a voice in the back of my head (my voice) said "take your camcorder" so I did, thats when the problems began, editing I mean, too much to describe, but OK.
Well said ste67, Mick is a true gentleman. After they kicked him out of the Clash, he put together his own band, and then when Joe was down on his luck, Mick let him play on his new band's album. I love them all, but I've come to have even more respect for Mick than ever. What a true freedom fighter too. He puts the millionaire rock stars to shame!!
All the legends are dead. And I've just realised that a lot r actually called John/Johnny (John Mellor, John Lennon, Johnny Cash and Johnny Allen Hendrix. Yes, that was what he wer called first lol) Ironic. Don't know about u, but I'm gonna keep on "STRUMMING" !!!
