Mendip Hunt Saboteurs

Mendip Hunt Saboteurs are a group of individuals dedicated to protecting wildlife from hunting and persecution in Mendip, Somerset, and beyond. We use non-violent direct action to intervene in hunts to prevent animals being chased and/or killed.ur main focus is the Mendip Farmers’ Hunt - the local mounted fox hunt - but we often attend other hunts or shoots and take action against the annual badger cull. Mendip Hunt Sabs are affiliated to the Hunt Saboteurs Association (HSA).

Last Saturday, the Mendip Farmers Hunt met at their kennels in Priddy. Anticipating their first move, sab teams positioned at either end of East Water Drove, and as expected, the hunt sent hounds into the surrounding scrub for their first draw. We sabbed a total of 91 different hunt meets in the 2023-34 season; 58 fox hunts, 27 stag hunts, 4 bird shoots, 1 hare hunt and 1 mink hunt. As always, our main target was the Mendip Farmers Hunt, who we visited on 26 separate occasions.
