The street you called Lafayette was SO familiar to me, waking up all kinds of memories-we must have driven that way many times. I go back and forth with google maps when I watch your videos trying to orient myself

Seeing you pass so many places I frequented so much growing up brought back a ton of memories. From Sandman Elementary to my old home on Leaming Ave and all around the beach. I do miss the old cottage houses; the older houses have such character.

I grew up in North Cape May back when the Blockbuster was still on the corner of the shopping center. I absolutely miss NCM so much.

Lucky Bones has the best steamed mussels I've ever eaten. A must stop every time we're down south. Also Georges on Beach St. has great breakfast and lunch offerings with humongous portions. Probably the best value in all of Cape May. Tishes for fine dining can't be beat. We've eaten in just about every restaurant down there but prices have really gotten out of hand, more so than most of other NJ eateries. I guess they all feel they have captive audiences down there.

I think I shared this before, but there is so much character in North/West Cape May, and the Villas. Plus, if you’re looking to buy a property you get more value. All the access to the beaches without the high property taxes and prices :) By the way, you’re never too old to ride your bikes 😂

Super to have you back posting! Worked for a month as a waiter on the beach in Cape May1973..then got a job at Zaberers in Wildwood for the remainder of the summer. Came home with $1700. Got lost at Highbee's Beach in the shrubs with a date. Got home the next day. Lol

I had spoken to a college friend of mine of 50 years last week. We worked as waiters in the summer of 1973 in Wildwood. I have shared your video posts of South Jersey with him. Told him I had not seen any new videos lately...suspected that possibly some serious tradegy

Did you know where you turned to go back into Cape May they shot a movie seen there with Robert Meachum, I think. We went to watch but I was just a child then. Also, just before you came up to the acme grocery store on the right was where I played little league and my aunt worked at that acme store.

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes lately! Losing someone is never easy! It's also crazy how someone, your son in law, can change up like that, and put that kinda change on his kids! Sounds like you're getting things in order though and keeping everything held together for everybody. 2025 will be better!

Nothing in villas but meth and low life human beings. Lived in lower township long time. Lower has unbelievable pr so you dont hear about the drugs and none stop violent crime

Remember the entry on #47 and the George Redding Bridge for a summer of fun and work in Wildwood in between college years. Mike, your fans appreciate your thoughtfulness and memory. I did live on Maple Ave in 1974. Lincoln Ave in 1973 and 20 Ave. in North Wild wood in 1975. Days were spent with friends on the beach followed by a summer job as a waiter...nightclubs on Pacific Ave. till 3 a.m. Thanks for the memories😎

I love the shore towns during the fall. My sister has a condo in N. Wildwood on Kennedy beach drive (10th street). I would visit and stay there at the end of Sept and it felt like the entire beach was empty. Nothing like shorts, a hoodie, coffee and the ocean.

My first movie was at a theater right on the beach, probably in Wildwood. I was two yrs old and I actually have a memory of it. I remember my mothers friend giving me Good &Plenty candy and I thought it was horrible. The movie was Dr Doolittle, I remember that too. My dad tells me I took off running out the back exit right on to the beach but I don’t remember that part

Right on!!! I played in a teenage rock band comprised of all local teens, I used to ride my bicycle all over the place all the way to Wildwood and everything this was great thanks a lot! I'm trying to figure out how to donate you some gas money for that? I used to work at that 7-Eleven that's now closed right there in the Villas too! you found it on the first shot on the back roads even, 200 Broadway is across from the public library in Bayside village at least that's what it used to be called it's on the corner it's a white house! I snuck my dad's motorcycle out when they went away for the weekend and crashed it on that S-Curve on Town Bank road for that place gives me so much memories

Recently over the weekend ocean city bike weekend was happening over in ocean City Maryland.

In my teen years, 14-17, I was a ruffian, I lived at 200 Broadway in the Villas. My dad was a Delaware River and Bay Authority police officer on the Cape May-Lewes ferry and as a matter of fact he was one of the first few who started this side of the ferry from the state of Delaware, that's why we moved over to there. When I turned 16 I worked at the Conoco at Bayshore road and Washington, and right next to it used to be a restaurant called Ben's and I was a short order cook. I wasn't allowed to go to school at lower Cape May regional because I was trouble at my old school back in Delaware so they wouldn't let me in. I could tell you so many stories about down there during the best time in life the Early to mid-80s. It all came crashing down though when I had to go to jamesburg for being trouble in the villas too! 🤣 I'm all grown up in California enjoying life now looking back on those days.

I support the ideology of green initiatives, but unless I can personally see any financial gain (significant energy savings), then the value doesn’t outweigh the reward. Enjoy the beautiful day, Mike!

Yes, those neighborhoods have a lot of value compared to island homes, plus just great communities. I agree, price per square foot is a bit high at the moment, but if you can get a good deal I may be a new N. Cape May, Villas or Del Haven guy
