Mounting pads for the seat belts, is a lot stronger than the bungs.

would love to see how you modified the hard top hoist to work with an older bronco.
You should be using mastic on the floor drain really you don't need screws and it will rust the minute you screw it in your will set off paint it from underneath with rust converter
3m strip caulk and butyl is sometimes referred to as mastic. In the video I offer up that seam sealer or bedding compound is a good option too. I had plenty of the butyl rubber caulking which was used all over these cars from the factory. Plus this car won’t see much rain so it should work well for this build. We’re using all stainless hardware where applicable as well.

That's an awesome roll bar design, i really like it. I don't think it is recommended for offroad use , and i think that's worth mentioning.
Yes, you are right, this setup is so much better for the firewall. Malwood really has the best underdash clutch setup, I have one for a 72 Gran Torino - it rocks.

I don’t like that style of roll cage , I don’t like how the bars coming forward mount to the windshield. I’d rather have an actual six point roll cage it’s just safer in a roll over situation

How do you feel about the side bars in the back? I asked them to lower the side bars by 5 inches and they refused. Looks to me to be at a skull crushing level in the event of a catastophe and would appear to be safer and more visually appealing if it was below the body line and above the fender. Great vid, beautiful truck and adorable kids. Thanks for sharing.

Its been a while but they are loop pile from Auto Custom carpets. Most likely I got them from Jeffs or Toms.
Did you also buy the seatbelts from Kincer?
The seatbelts for this setup came from Kincer with the cage but are manufactured by a company called Retro Belt. They have an extensive line up of products for vintage cars.

Most likely a 70s LTD but was in a hot rod truck. Found it’s already 40 over. Need to call the machine shop and see how far we honed it.

Nice! Don't see people building 5.0s too often... I had a buddy who's only had fox body mustangs. His first car was a cougar and then every other car was a mustang with the same rebuilt 302 his dad bought him. He kept working on that engine and it was pretty quick. Unfortunately someone ran him off the road and he died in the car he so beloved. Rip Zach... yall have fun!

Not ready to endorse the exact one just yet until I've thoroughly tested it in several car washes. I do mention the company in the video though.
@@RocketSlideRacing actually went with the OEM black one. It’s glossy black, would have preferred matte but either way looks so much better.
Would you recommend a 3M primer adhesive promoter help facilitate the adhesion of the new badge?
As a 3M stockholder yes! If you don't have any though you could use warm soap and water with a microfiber first, then denatured alcohol to thoroughly clean the surface. Adhesion is all about the adhesive backing from the product really. Tougher if you've had ceramic coating between removal. I DO recco 3M automotive adhesive tape for any badging you might want to adhere to your vehicle. We use that for badges on old school cobras and mustangs so there's no need to drill holes.
Love this! Im in the market for a Cobra. I really like the 289, but what is your experience with the passenger room w the roll bar brace? Curious if my wife will "approve" lol
The forward running rollbar brace is a cool period correct setup. Not the most ergonomic but cool for your passenger to grab on to during hard cornering. Cobras aren't known for legroom but there's plenty on the passenger side.

Appreciate the props. Yeah that’s the point of the video essentially, and having a cobra w no flammable carpet. The mats are just for cruising and they come out easy at the track. We speak to that more in the short.
