First time fishing at this campground near Independence, CA. The creek is extremely narrow but there are pockets where you can fish amongst all the brush. Fished after a recent plant and was able to find the school bunched up in slower water. Had a fun CNR session with the stocker rainbows.

We plan to do a trip to this lake. Any suggestions on baits for bank fishing? And whats the best side to fish. Thanks in advance
What was the minus low tide when u went
What an awesome video. I’ve never caught a trout. I’m going to get some spoons and maybe some jerkbait? What a cool video
Good videos!! Where are the trouts swimming right now near el dorado national forest?
Ik im probably late and u may not comment back but what is the limit to fish there and what’s the best bait for these trouts
5 trout is the limit and they like garlic flavor bait
@ Ik the bait they like a few days ago and thanks for telling me the limit
Are you still sell the spoons
I still see the duck with the red face at heather farms
Do they normally stock brown trout there?
They haven’t the last few years but that first year I started going, they planted browns a few times
Is this spot left of the store or right?...strawberry store
Exactly
That gas station chicken is no joke. Way better than it has any right to be
Redding?
That still a good spot
Great video! Thanks for showing us what you caught them with. Thanks for uploading!
Terrible
what’s terrible?
Nice video! Can you list the gear you're using (i.e. rod action, reel, line)?
Where was the first spot you found?
Nice fishing, thanks for the location, will give it try.
Another great video! What are the Caliboi lure patterns you recommend for this area?
Hello there. I've been watching your videos very entertaining. My family and I are planning a trip to Lassen this coming weekend. We are camping at the volcano county rv park. I am a bass fisherman but my wife and girls (18 and 8) have never fished before. I am new to the area we have never been and I was wondering if you could recommend some spots near the rv park. I really appreciate your time, hopefully we catch something. Thank you!!
Just checked and DFW hasn’t planted at Battle, Deer or Coldwater creek this week/for a while. If you’re in staying in Mineral I would consider Lake Almanor at the Hamilton Branch about 45mim away or even a few spots closer to Burney up north (Baum Lake, Burney & Hat Creek near Cassel). All are being planted this week. I’m deciding whether I’ll be in Burney or Tahoe this weekend. Good luck

Do you have like a route to this spot or GPS?
Googlemaps my friend. Access from Tioga Pass on LV intake road and several spots along Poole Power Plant road. Good luck
How do I find this pond?
@@juniorvalencia6188 just off of Hwy 395 right next to Lake Crowley
Its called "McGee Creek Trout Ponds"
Clam gun way faster and much less disruption to surrounding habitat. No back ache next day either. Not the best area for gapers.
How do you like Okuma Celilo rod when using spoons ???
I think I’ve used that rod primarily for salmon using spinners. Don’t have it in the trout size rod.
Very nice fish, but horrendous fish handling skills. All of the fish you released surely died. Buy a net and keep them in the water.
What is the red clam call?
Love the video
What an enjoyable 1st time catches for the family! Great work Gery❤
Thanks Paq. Looks like you had fun in Tahoe!
@@noskunkadventures5035 we did! But we need more time to explore.
Going this weekend and hoping there’s still some fish!
Good luck. I ran into some guys that just got back and said both Virginias were still producing.
I usually take a couple cans of off when I go to goodale, taboose, and tinemehah. Sometimes that don't even detour the bugs
I’m normally in shorts and a t-shirt but have jeans and a long sleeve shirt ready at all times
Good job man nice fishing 🎣
Thanks for the support
Just left there Friday.. Limits and holdovers for all three of us! My favorite lake!
Yeah, it’s one of my favorites since my college days.
Nice video! What was the name of the spoons you were using?
Outkaster spoons at rayfishing.com
So much for global warming. All of my rods, fresh or salt, are "economy" models. I don't think fish care.
Always been wanting to go to the Eastern Serrias, looks like you had a great time!
Do you have the address for this park?
5500 Honor Parkway
@@noskunkadventures5035thank you
I usually use Thomas bouyants or daredevils at those creeks .Where can I buy some of those spoons you’re using? Thanks.Good videos.
I’ve had some success with TB too. The Outkaster spoons can be found at select NorCal marinas and bait shops. Otherwise use rayfishing.com
Nice stuff man! So cool to be out there in the eastern Serrias, much better such an incredible place to be. Keep on catching’em
Thanks. I’ll be out here a couple of more times this summer
Cool little place! Awesome action out there.
💥🙌🏼thx man
Hey man, very cool , hey what part of independence Creek u at?, I usually fish at grey meadows campground, the place you were at looks very nice 💯 n good fishing,id like head up there next week, GOD willing 🙏🏼
Look up Independence Sand Traps on Google maps. Just follow the creek near the airport. I find the actual locations mediocre, basically canals but you still get the Sierras in the background. Much prefer the surroundings in the canyons or lake basins. Good luck
Good Work 👍 Nice Video 📸
Thanks for the support. Hope it was useful.
@@noskunkadventures5035 Thanks 4 Response 🏆
Was the dock and parking lot open?
Yes, everything was worked on and open again. Enjoy not having to park on the road.
My GF and I were on a two person kayak there once. She hooked the largest trout I had ever seen in my life! She fought it with two pound main line and I had to paddle the kayak just to keep up with the fish. She finally brought it beside the kayak but the leader broke. The net I had was way too small in any case. We were pretty much dead center at the far end of the lake.
That’s awesome! I’ve hooked plenty at Silver but never anything over 2 pounds. One of these days I’ll have to get a boat so I can fish the far side of the lake. I’ve fished on that side but I feel like it is too shallow from shore.
Silver has been fishing very well this year.
I’ll be there again this summer so hopefully the trend continues.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. I fish the Owens River around the Benton Crossing area.
The Owens at Browns is such a nice stretch to walk. Unfortunately, it may be one of the most pressured waters in the Sierras with the campers, locals and out of town enthusiasts getting their lines wet.
One of these day on my bucket list meet you an go fish with u in eastern Sierra an around I live in applevalley ca an I go up to bishop alot one day we have to meet up an catch them fish
I go into the Sierras several times throughout the summer but am targeting Bishop (Sabrina, South and PVR) in July
@@noskunkadventures5035 There is a campsite near Bishop with a little creek running around it and in some stretch its so small it almost looks like a ditch. We caught DFG trout there while camping.
What's ur set up rod real line
Sorry I just read other com
I was just up at Fraser flat last weekend and the river is high and fast. No fish.
Yup, I was there yesterday and June ‘23 was the same story. Maybe by August it will be fishable.
