George was World Champion 10 times over 30 years. Met him when I was 9 and he taught me more than anyone else about racing. I used to kick stiff legged as a junior and was told later he got a kick out of that. He also taught me how to vet my dogs to go from 9 on day 1 of 76 3 dog nac to winning overall. I’ll never forget George Attla.

Carlos, just a look back in time,I used to visit with you and your brother,s Juan and Ernie at the crossroads and watch nj devils games, and drank out of the Stanley cup there when Scott brought the trophy there, just wanted to let you know, your whole family makes us Alaskans proud!

As a teenager I spent time feeding his dogs and scooping poop. My mother loved this man and was at his and Carolyn's wedding. I enjoyed listening to his stories as a teenager. He is dearly missed. RIP Norman and Momma, I hope you are hanging out together in heaven mushing dogs❤

She made an impression on me - down in Atlanta Georgia!!!! In 1992 - I named my Husky Puppies - the male was named Granite (after Butchers lead musher Granite, who won the 1986, 1987 1988 and 1989 Iditerod races!) And the females name was Alaska!!!! And today they are together again - in heaven and I miss them dearly!!!!!!!
