i installed half life source 2 days ago cus i cant play half life, there are some opengl issues xd. But i like source more, although bhopping is much pretty mid there, its like perfect

Yea... half life source was meant to be a tech demo to showcase how easy it was to port from sourcegold to source with minimal changes using the valve tooling. It came with opensourced hammer map files and documentation on how to do this for your game. It was _never_ intended to be an actual proper half life remake/hd upscale. It was never intended to be fully functional. It showcases what happens if you port it with minimal effort. This was clearly stated on the store page at the time.

Idk, last time i tried hls, was after the hl2 20th anniversary update, and since hls and hl2 share executables, it just f**ked up the title screen of hls makin the hl2 logo appear instead

To be honest i prefer source over the "classic" version, or at least it was like that before the anniversary update. The source version played fine before the steampipe update, they just didn't care to fix it. Someone already did tho, there's a patch somewhere, probably on moddb, that fixes basically everything. For some people the HD model are ugly but that's how I first played HL on a PS2 demo and the new gloves are much better than the default ones. Too bad we didn't get the real HD pack, the one used on the PS2 which is quite different from the one on PC. I also really enjoy the inclusion of the havok, it makes throwing the grenades much easier.

I wonder why Valve didn't make a remake, like, who cares that Half Life 1 is in the source engine? The game is still the same lol It's not like the remastered weapon and more realistic water encourage me to spend 32 Bucks (price in my country) to buy another version of the game

I can definitely say the crowbar does not make a metal hitting sound when hitting wood in half life 1, also fun fact, these hd models were taken from gamebanana, the signatures are there
