Hi arlo12345678910 - thanks for enquiring - the P51 flies beautifully too! Same setup as the P47 ... Robart retracts and wheels, savox servos, futaba 14 channel receiver and DLE 55 motor (rear exhaust) with 22x10 wooden prop. No ballast required to balance. The P51 took longer to build as she's an older model and not quite as pre-built as the P47 was. In flight she feels faster and more zippy and tracks very well - a lot like a sports aerobatic plane when grooving along. Slows up nicely for landing but don't over bank when slow with the much thinner wing! If you build one you will be very happy with the finished article and flying it is an an exhilarating blast! Top Tip ... do not use the fluffy mylar elevator hinges supplied - they will fail! Use robart (or similar) point hinges all round. Luckily I spotted the failing hinges before they let go! In summary both planes are superb top quality kits and both fly and track very well indeed. The P47 'Jug' flies with a bigger and heavier feel, very stable even at low speeds and a doddle to land. The P51 slightly faster and peppier, very 'groovy' but needs a bit more concentration at landing speeds as the lift will drop off quicker due to the thinner wing. Both planes still flying and I will endeavour to get a video of the Mustang as soon as the weather improves in the UK.

+TonyRCFlyer Thanks for the prompt response! Sweet that both are still airworthy and will love to see a running video of the Mustang! Will check in occasionally to see if any new vids have been posted. I am searching for a new bird and am looking at Top Flights Texan, Thunderbolt and Mustang. Your response has helped much. I would like something that is sporty and by the sound of it the Thunderbolt, while capable of sport aerobatics may be a little bulky compared to the other two.

Thanks Zeogiannes - she is still flying strong after 3 years and I can confirm from previous posts that the undercarriage mounts are still unscathed after a season or two of flying from grass strip :) Very stable and predictable in flight with no real vices as long as you respect it's a warbird. Low speed flight and landings are a joy - in fact on grass I managed to coast her in with a touch down to stop distance of only about 20 meters! Real close now to maidening' Top Flite's Big Beautiful Doll P51 - hope this flies as well as the Jug!

Thanks mate - sorry been off of this for a while! The motor is a DLE 55 and wheels from Dubro (same size as original). The wheels included in the kit are probably fine but the Dubro ones looked more scale.... still haven't got round to painting them though! Now approaching eight years old and still flying her - she's a keeper! Most certainly the nicest flying Warbird from the bunch!! Thanks again ...

Sorry ... take that back ... wheels are from Robart - as is the main UC and tail retract.
