I ordered a bd thru your link and we're doing well on day 2. Her nails are starting to ruin my furniture and of course it's bad for her. So I really welcome this.

Ok. That's great. I can do that. But my problem is when someone is on the porch. I can't open the door. He has a ferocious bark, and it really is a greeting, but nobody else gets that. He's a pit bull. Hard headed!! I usually leave him there to bark and go out the garage to find out whoever's on my porch. Help.!!!

If you have a bigger board like 3 ft long and cover it with, you could prop it up on the edge of the bed so it's a steep incline, can I have him climb up it and he will try to jump on the bed but only get my treat when he climbs up the board. Have it so steep he has to struggle to get up the board and scratch, as long as he's notold

This might not work for everyone, but this is what I found worked well. My family's dog hated her nails being cut she would start wailing and crying, she made it sound like you were cutting her paws off. So we avoided cutting her nails and even started filling them (which is super slow). We went to a dog training session with her (the guy doing the training session is a very well-known breeder and trainer, he breeds GSPs and working Malinois) his advice was to just cut her nails normally and ignore all the fuss and even if she carries on and on finish cutting her nails. He said dogs will carry on making a big fuss about things like this because they know you will give in and stop, so don't stop when your dog makes a big fuss, and if they try to pull their paw away don't let go until you finish cutting the nails. You aren't hurting them, and you need to be able to cut their nails and touch their paws whether they like it or not. At first, it was tough and we would only cut one paw at a time, but once we started doing it regularly she realized that getting her nails cut doesn't hurt and making a big fuss isn't going to do anything because we weren't backing down like before. Fast forward, she still doesn't like having her nails cut, but she doesn't make a big fuss wailing, she doesn't try and pull her paws away, and it only takes about 2 minutes to do all her nails rather than 30+ minutes filling them. So to sum it up, methods like those in the video above might work but they are kind of dumb, just take the time to train your dog to let you touch their paws and cut their nails, it can be a pain at first and you might feel bad because your dog is putting on a big show wailing and whimpering but they are perfectly fine and simply putting on a show (like a toddler having a tantrum) you shouldn't give in because your dog will remember "oh, last time my human tried to cut my nails and I made a big fuss they stopped, I'll do that if they try to cut my nails again". Plus you are in big trouble if your dog won't let you touch their paws and then they hurt themselves!

I'm gonna try this. Twice I cut the quick and caused bleeding. Luckily I had blood clotting gel for dogs, but very stressful and I really don't want to cut his nails. If I take him to the vet he'll have to be sedated because he's very reactive.

One of my moms dogs won’t let me pet other dogs. He’s not even my dog. I call him the wedge because he drives himself between me and any other dog I pet. He’ll even corral my hands with his paws to pull them away from other dogs. He doesn’t care when my mom pets other animals. I don’t think it’s an alpha thing neither because I can make him wilt in a second just by raising my voice, and he hits the dirt the second I grab him by the scruff. Does he just really like me or something? My mom says I’m the first person that’s ever been able to approach him in his kennel the first time without him acting ultra aggressive. She says he even went off on her the first couple of days after she got him.

Everything is good for my dog until I have to buckle her harness. Whatever treat is on the ground, she will turn very rapidly to bite me. It has become more and more violent, and we had to leave her leash on the whole time to avoid any biting. Any suggestion on how to go through with that would be amazing, as I am afraid that at some point the harness will cause skin irritations.

My Yorkie would not let anyone trim his front nails. They were getting way too long. I could tell he was getting very uncomfortable walking and it hurt to play. Well, this video saved us from sedating him at the vets office. He picked it up in one session. He is a pro and loves to scratch on the board. His nails no longer touch the floor when he is standing, in less than a week. What an easy fix this has been for us. Thank you so much for the knowledge!!

I apologise because you wrote this comment over a year ago but I’ve just bought one of these for my own dog yesterday from “Pets At Home” (the UK version of PetSmart/Petco) and after watching several videos similar to this, to say that I’m frustrated is beyond a joke. 😖😖😖😖😖😖 It’s because of your suggestion to play the video in slow motion that I have finally managed to fold it after having been trying to do so for an hour! 😖😡 I just wanted to say a huge “thank you” because without your comment, I would probably have still been here trying to fold it up for another hour and getting slightly more angry as time passed on. 🤗 !!!THANK YOU!!! 🤗

I got this from a Facebook post.. Don't take the fella anywhere get you a large TJ Maxx bag and measure between his legs and cut holes in that bag just large enough for his legs to go through and then you hoist him up to a railing or something at somebody's house that has a second story and you just gently lift him up to where he can't interfere or bite you let him relax for a minute give him treats while he's there in that position and continue to give him like baked chicken while you're doing it and have somebody or maybe even two people cut the nails while you're giving him big chicken while he's in his Hamic
