Lug nut keeps spinning, but not stud
มุมมอง 706 หลายเดือนก่อน
The lug nut kept spinning but the stud was not spinning. There are a lot of videos about what to do if the stud is spinning, but this was not my case. Pretty sure this was caused from someone cross threading the lug onto the stud.

Do you own this 2013 Toyota Highlander? Just wondering because I own one and would love it if you had more videos on it
I did, sold it a while back for a VW.
Excelente informacion, gracias por compartir, en todo esfuerzo se encuentra la solucion.
¡De nada!
Why did a spider make a web in your truck right there? You got a lot of bugs in your truck? Seems like it...shit just ain't workin'. Bravo on the fix though!
You have to reset it in neutral and it will make a noise when it does try to reset.
What size is the bolt you used to pull the filter out?
Not sure about the threads, but it's about 4-5 inches long. You can use the replacement filter to match a random bolt in your garage.
Thank you so much for this. Just did it on our 2012 and saved literally over $1000. Absolute pain in the butt but a little determination and help from the video made it work.
I tried to comment on your 4 wheel drive on the Silverado being stuck. Comment is blocked off. I want to say thank you for taking the time to make that video cause you save me time and money. Thank you!!!! Thank you
Glad it helped!
Fixed for FREE!!!!! My 2012 silverado has been stuck in 4low for 2 days. I've tried everything except replacing any parts.... Let me explain why it might of happened first. I recently gave someone a jump, they connected the cables wrong. That might of triggered something in my computer. Second, the next day I remote started the truck (thats how it jumped into 4low, I NEVER moved the switch, it went into 4low on its own). Third, that morning when I remote started it, when I shifted into drive, truck wouldn't move.... it never switched gears. Turned it off, back on, then it went into gear (4low!!!!!!!) Sooooo....here's what i just did to fix it just now... I removed the transfer case motor thing... (4 bolts and 2 connections) I then tried to spin the gear inside the transfer case with a flathead but realized it rolls right back.... Okay... so I put the motor back on.... I said fck it. I'll just have to spend money on a mechanic to figure it out.... Soooo.... when I turned the truck back on, it was back in 2high!!!!!!!!!! 😅. Problem fixed. Obviously idk which part of what i did fixed it. Maybe just removing the part, maybe it was moving the gear a little. Either way, after being stuck in 4low just like that it's back in 2high
When you did the hold the knob to relearn. For that to work the truck has to be in Neutral. It looked like you were in Park. Also just remembered the truck should be turned off not running and the ignition turned to all accessories.
That a factory skid plate?
It is.
I appreciate the vid dude. Just got my motor mounts replaced and now throwing P0106 code. Weird thing is, itll only pop up for a second and then go away after i get down the road a bit. Gonna replace it tomorrow thanks to this video!
How do you bleed the air I’m comfused
The easiest method is to jack up the side of the car with the coolant reservoir. With the cap off and the reservoir at a higher point relative to the rest of the engine, the air should come out of the lines.
My it's a 2017 and it's in the same location!! Thanks
Can you tell me where it goes connect the hose it's going to the engine direccion..?? My hose is cut and i can find the other end....
It should be on top of the transmission or transfer case.
I just did this for my Chevy Silverado 2500 HD 2012 4x4 works like new now !!!!!!!
Boss what about codes? After scanning does your vehicle throw any codes?
It didn't throw any codes
Im pretty sure i no what the dealership done to it see when u took that shift coder motor off the one that came with the truck you herard something fall inside the transfer case that fell n low lock and when u baught the new shift coder motor the new ones come n neutral thats why when u put the new one n the red light was on because the new shift coder motor came in neutral but your transfer case fell n low lock so what you should have done was before u put the new shift coder motor on you should have connected the new coder motor to the plug n without it put n the transfer case then turned it to low lock that way the new coder motor was n low lock when u put it n to line the shift coder motor up with low lock the shift coder motor has to b lined up with the transfer case gear inside the transfer case if the coder motor is n neutral and the transfer case is fell into low lock it wont work right because the coder motor isnt lined up with the transfer case low lock gear its n
curious if the pcv valve change fixed the oil burning issue?
Unfortunately, it did not. I think the issue has to do with the piston rings.

Hello I have mazda 323 . I changed the rectifier on my alternator but when i turn on all electrical instruments inside the car light, heater etc. The battery lamp comes on in the dashboard. Should i replace even alternator diode. Because can not hold load and my battery still drain if i let a few days without turn on the car . It is the possible a bad alternator so i have to replaced. Please give me a advice
I would recommend removing the alternator and having a local parts store test it if possible. I usually take mine to AutoZone. If you've replaced the rectifier, the diodes are located in it and thus would have been replaced. If the battery is draining while the car is sitting, it might not be the alternator. You can also remove the negative battery cable while the car is running; if it dies, this would indicate a bad alternator.
PART # HELPS ???
How long is that bolt and what’s the thread on it
Not sure about the threads, but it's about 4-5 inches long. You can use the replacement filter to match a random bolt in your garage.
I heard that if you un plug the module and it's good you will blow the fuse. If it doesn't blow then your module is bad.
I mean't the actuator not the module just so we don't get confused.
Where’d you get that socket? Can’t find it anywhere
Mine came from O'Reilly's
its just a plastic piece they say. just use channel locks to twist it out they say. mine was so **** tight that entire piece broke off. had to take this s**** off, put it in a vice and just like an axle seal had to take it off. what a bonafide pain in the ************************ might want to tell people that its not that easy .
Minute 5:55, went through the same issue
@@hodgegarage yeah i understand that. The thread sealant on mine was so solid had to use flat head screw driver to break loose the thread and plastic pieces. THEN....had to stick screwdriver from other side (taking off diff shaft and while on vice) hammer inside out with small flathead. just waiting for new actuator now. Sadly and initially...my goal was to replace front diff axle seals both sides....after doing so...4x4 is not working...hence this actuator issue. going to just hand tight this with good amount of thread sealant. take it for a drive with potential 4x4. check for leaks again... if leaks then just a quarter turn again. i don't know....
@@alangomes5607 man, that's a bad situation, but sounds like you have a solid plan. Good luck, hope it works!
Why won’t the permanent codes clear,,,, po106 keeps coming back
I would check the wiring harness
could be the throttle body It could be caused by a faulty or dirty MAP sensor, wiring or connection issues, vacuum leaks, clogged or dirty air filters, or a failed PCM or ECM.
Why didn’t your check engine light come on. ?
I replaced it trying to fix another issue.
Hello I did enjoy your video so did you change it because it was shutting off on you like losing power and then it won’t turn on because that’s what I’m having issues on mine ?
Yes, the battery light was on which implied the alternator was bad.
That’s weird because mine was not turning on and it was shutting off on mine. But idk this is driving me crazy
@@carlosjimenez6370 Did you change the alternator and it's still losing power? If it's losing power then it's more than likely bad even without the light. If you need to check it, you can remove the negative battery terminal when the car is running, if the engine stops, the alternator is bad.
@@hodgegarage thank you so much ill do that tomorrow and see how it goes .
Thank you for sharing this!
Great JOB HANNAH!!!
I did this on my 2013 Chevy 5.3 then removed the error code next day code comes back… wth
Awesome video. Doing my struts on my 2010 Silverado tomorrow with the stock suspension. Does the top end of the coil on the new strut face outwards or the bottom end of the new coil
Great question! Most people don't ever consider that it does make a difference. Usually the strut will have a sticker that either needs to face a certain direction. Either way, on a stock setup the top of the coil should face outward.
That thing's the cruise control 🙂
I have an 07 and a 08 Chevy and GMC and I have always had to stop , put the shafter in the neutral positions for it to engage the 4 wheel drive.
Thanks man you followed every step great video….

Once clip is lifted turn towards radiator then push clip off plastic stud.
Thanks! sorry for breakage .
Should use Acdelco sensor
How do you reset the system? You mentioned it. But I don’t remember what part of the video showed it
Disconnect both battery leads and connect them together. Only the leads connect together, the battery is completely unhooked. Hold those leads together for several minutes, this will drain the ECM in theory causing a reset.
What size is that socket to take the sensor out??🤔
27mm
@@hodgegarage THANK YOU!
Nice job, simple and to the point
Are there two different styles of valve cover for the 09
Not sure
That plastic piece on the back of the engine that blocks your view, can it be cut away? What does it do?
I wouldn't cut it off. The vacuum line for the brake booster runs through it.
@@hodgegarage I would cut away enough just leave that line supported
I'm guessing that would work. You might want to find a picture of the part online first though.
@@hodgegarage Found a good picture yesterday, I already lost one socket in there, my hand just not fitting back there
What does that lolley pop piece of metal do?
