George was so underrated as a lyricist man. His songs are just pure art
George Harrison? A lyricist? Sorry to respecfully disagree. Obviously I am here because I also admire and love some of George's work, but lyrics were definitely not his best talent. "I got my mind set on you", for example. A cover version from a 1962 song from James Ray. Chorus/Bridge: "The feelings that I feel". There is no way that Paul or John would ever write or sing that. Feelings/Feel... Pretty lazy. "Lovely to love your loving"! 😄
Listening to this song and some other George Harrison songs makes me want to turn them off and listen to Donovan. Donovan artistic vision and music combined well to express and transcend the range of human emotions and experiences!🥂

Our family lost a 13 year old last evening by his own doing. We are all shaken and mortified at the events that led to this. His parents are completely beside themselves, and we are trying to help them process. George has always been a comforting voice to me; this record helped me process when I lost my mother to cancer years ago. I am in hopes that this record can continue to be healing and soothing to those in need

@dagtigerstrom7170 Well, a lot of Beatles fans are huge Paul fans and diss George and even John. Personally, I have a particular love for George. John comes next, then Paul. And I think Paul at his best is brilliant, but especially after Sgt Pepper he wrote some songs I just don't like. John and Paul at their best together were genius a helluva lot.

A message that comes from the grave for his loved ones, who should not despair, but try to make their dreams come true anyway.
My son died a year ago, these images and this song speak to me and try to soothe me into acceptance that he felt he had to leave. The river imagery is particularly poignant. Thank you for making this and reminding me that everything, everything eventually leaves. I just wish he could have stayed longer.

I admire her strength of continue living even though some days she feels is not worth it, I imagine you have had those experiences and so, I admire you for that too. The greatness of George Harrison was to write the lyric, "A wind will blow those clouds away" The genius of John Lennon, is to change the lyric to " a mind can blow these clouds away" just by turning the the W upside down and giving it a whole other dimension and double meaning. The greatness of George was to also have the humility to listen to John and instantly take his advice as he recognized he was in the presence of the master.
Not really. George did not have much choice, if he wanted any of his compositions recorded on Beatles albums. If anything, Lennon was in the presence of a master.
