We were lucky enough to bring in the New Year 2023 with a visit to Tokyo and Kamakura, Japan with its many sights, sounds, temples, shrines, music, and cuisine. The crowds were enormous--guess everyone thought they'd bring in the New Year together. A fascinating journey for all. Come along!

New York City in February 2022.

Spent a couple of days in New York City. Went to Times Square. Walked through DUMBO area of Brooklyn and then walked the Brooklyn Bridge. Took the Staten Island Ferry that goes close to the Statue of Liberty. And to finish it off, we went to the Oculus and spent some time at the 9/11 Memorial Fountains near the One World Trade Center.

A walk around Shibuya on Halloween night. Very crowded and busy. A fire broke out in one of the buildings causing smoke to fill the air. No one was injured but the smoke got really bad. I left early because it was starting to make me sick.

Beautiful La Digue Island in the Seychelles. We were here for five nights in October. This is the most beautiful island we have ever been on. It was worth the very long 22 hours in flight time to get there!

Who knew there were so many flavors of Kit Kat candy bars in Japan? And we only scratched the surface. Japan has more Kit Kat flavors than anywhere else in the world. It was a great adventure in the Dotonbori area of Osaka, Japan, and a unique experience we're able to share with everyone. (Beware the purple cookie, whatever that was!)

Festival City's newest daily show called "Imagine" leaves viewers stunned. This show has the Guiness Book of World Records for the world's largest water screen. It also use IMAX-type projectors to show vivid images on a 36-story building. Incredible use of technology, fire, light, and wonder.

I live in Italy, in the Lombardy Alps, near Lake Como. I often see the lake and it seems to me an absolutely "normal" place. I am very surprised to discover that for Americans it is such a place full of charm and romance... 🙃

Have been there in May 2000...20 years ago, also visited Milan and Switzerland border. The hotel is stayed facing lake como..how nice. Very beautiful at night. Before Italy was in Austria and Germany. I also love Turkey (been there in Dec 2016)...looking forward to go to Balkans but have to postphone due to COVID 19 pandemik.
