This is the official channel of the Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owner's Club, an International organization. We focus on, and celebrate the storied history of Caterpillar and the many machines that have built the world.
Our channel highlights machines from the earliest Holt and Best track-type tractors, equipment from the start of Caterpillar in 1925, up to units built in the mid-1960's. We like them all, ag tractors, construction equipment, graders, loaders, generator sets, scrapers, you name it, if it is Caterpillar we're in.

Not often you are up close to a 41,000 Lb D7 SA. This was shot in the UK pulling a 10 bottom (furrow) roll-over plow. Caterpillar built several sizes of SA tractors for the agricultural market, not all were bulldozers. D7 SA's were built from 1980 to 1985, and are a relatively uncommon sight. Greetings from Australia. Good old American technology. Just bloody beautiful.
Running 4th or 5th gear. My old five speed cable D4 covers a lot of ground going forward, then I catch a "Cat" nap backing up.

I think this is actually a 15A Series D8 and not a D8H...
That is a perfect combination
I would give anything to operate one just one more time. I was 18 when I climbed on one the first time……the operator had to take a pee break and let me run a load. I ran the old dozer pulling the sheepsfoot but I longed to run the pans. I now in my fading years yearn to run a load.

I ran a 7E in the Army. Tilt blade and power shift. Finally got all the water out of it and good fuel and filters and it'd snort. Ran F's after that but missed the old E. That old boy has been on that tractor more than once. Thanks

Sure does. I ran 4's and 6's with a straight drive a lot. Oil master clutches. Smooth has to be smooth and I also found out why an old operator was always blading. One less bump feels a lot better.@@acmocD2

What year was this model made?
Without a serial number, it is hard to pinpoint but RD-8's were made between 1935 and 1937.
It always reminded me of dinosaur 😊😊😊😊😊😊
