Being a caregiver for someone is so important, you are so very needed. However once that person is gone you go to a place in your mind where you no longer feel needed. This is a poem written from the perspective of someone who is going gently into that good night stating her desire to feel necessary and to matter not sure she succeeded in either as she leaves this world.
