    Yes seems a good run of the mill place, not far from the action!!...and cheap enough. I've been coming to Pattaya for 30 years on/off now. Never had a problem with cheaper hotels. For those who want luxury...north Pattaya 4000+ baht a night well out of the action 🤣🤣🤣.(Lowe de khun).

      It really is true that often thise oaying more miss the best bits. In Agra i datyed many times in a hotel that was £5 per night. True it was quite scruffy, but itbwas right next to tge Taj Mahal. You could even sleep on the roof and watch the sunset come up over the Taj. The lucury, expensive hotels were not even in view of the Taj and had no view of the Taj. Cheaper places can often be more quirky, fun and are run by families that care. I love the Opey de Place personally

    I stayed there a couple of years ago when my regular hotel wasn't available and I had to temporarily find a different hotel room. The room was very clean and had a nice comfortable bed and good AC. The only con I can think of is the power outlets were only 2 prong (and my computer only used 3 prong adapter). Other than that, it was a good place with a good budget price (about 650 Baht).

    Seems like Indie enjoyed it (except for the snakes)! I found interesting that you said the rural areas haven't developed much in 25 years. I may have missed this, but do you know what the nets are for? I see nets along the river, almost forming a lane or fence. They don't look like they are for fishing. Just curious. Thanks !

    • @hiddenworldjohnandindie8293
      @hiddenworldjohnandindie8293 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Im pretty sure the nets are just hung up by the fisherman so that they can see where they beed repairs. It is hard to imagine being in Europe but many of ghe scenes seen in the countryside are probably the same as 100 years ago. We both commented that unless you are in these areas its hard to believe that in the modern world they exist. Unfortunately it seems from our travels that rather than being in a minority, the majority of people in the world live in extreme poverty like this. It would seem that the story is the same from Asia to Africa that its actually the governments and richer governments of the world that actively cause this, rather than inprove it. One of the reasons I like to take Indie on these travels is for him to have a great awareness and education of what the real workd is really like and we do fhe vlogs hooing that it may enkighten others to whats out in the world and inspire more oeople to travel with their kids. What constantly amazes me is despite the poverty and things that have happened in Cambodia, people are so kind, gentle and friendly. Just as a footnote Indie is not scared of much, but definately is not keen on snakes. But then there are Cobras all across Cambodia.

    Gosh, that's not bad for $20. You got a nice bathroom, shower and a bed. Outside you have a pool and a full service restaurant. I think for me at least, if I go there, I don't plan to be in the room too much ;) So, a small room is fine. Is it central to the sights and touristy things in Phnom Penh?

      Hello Jose. Thanks for your comments. I say the hotel is perfectly situated in Phnom Penh. Its not a huge city and is easy to get around on either a hired motorbike, tuk tuk or motorbike taxi. The area around the vicinity of the hotel also has some nice bars and restaurants. Have fun on your trip and let us know how it goes.

    I stayed there and it was good. That balcony rail is way too low though. Did you try the food ordered by the pool?

      Had some food, which was ok but have so many options in that area that we ate out mainly. Totally agree about the balcony although i liked seeing over it easily, i could see it being dodgy for someone who was drunk or young kids.
