Single bas drum, no double bass drum or double pedal, just a very fast foot! Bonzo gets the majority of the plaudits but Paicey is easily as good, possibly even more technical, and could be very funky as well.

Aw man, I went for a Roland TD1-DMK when I started playing drums a few years ago, and now that I feel limited and want to expand it, I regret it… Going for this one would be much cheaper than buying the Roland parts that I want. I do have a question though. I don’t really need the second bass tom, and would like to add a China cymbal. Will the « tom 4 » trigger in let me do that, and assign a china in the module ? Or will I have to go through a computer and a DAW+plugin to achieve that ?

I can't count how many times I've seen this video and others of Gavin. And every time, I feel the same sense of wonder and amazement - how incredible it is to see someone of such talent, discipline and effortless mastery, not just perform, but elevate a song. It's enough to restore one's faith in human potential.

Watched a interview with Sully and Shannon about the "Drum Battle". It IS a choreographed solo, but they tend to improvise the dills each one plays just to challenge themselves and mix it up a bit. They are an amazing band, with really kick AZZ 🎵 talent .

I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING! Larnell is actually sending timing signals to Corey. You can hear him drum out a soft triple on his snare edge 4 bars from when the beat pics up I believe there was another point later in the song too cant remember it at the moment of typing but it sounded off before so i did the count this time.

I specifically love watching actual drummers experiencing this video for the first time. It is a very clever routine that starts off in such a way that you don't know if that's some beginner in the suit. And it just increases in skill levels exponentially. The routine is beyond the skill level of a lot of drummers, let alone doing it with the Cat Apple foam suit, sticks that are on the outside of the suit, and questionable visual field of view...

My take on the Paice/Bonham comparison is simple. Ian Paice could do everything that Bonham did, but I don’t think Bonham could do everything Ian did. Paice plays like a jazz drummer, using doubles more so than Bonham, and has great SWING !!
