@@mike_the_it_guy i gave up and installed watch dogs and there it was working fine. Ubisoft connect showed up i logged in and it worked. Far cry didnt even want to launch. I pressed play it showed the steam symbol and threw me back to the play button. I saw on reddit someone had the same problem. I try to reinstall it but i dont think it will change anything. I guess its a proton thing. I appreciate the effort with the video tho😉

Which proton did you use? I usually stick with Experimental. I also pinned a comment that had a few tweaks in the installation steps. I also made some notes in the description of some of the changes. I should probably do another video on this. Hope this helps!

@@mike_the_it_guy I managed to get it to start up in the end, I followed your advice, I think my issue was in using experimental. But I downloaded GE-Proton7 and that worked for me. Thanks for replying and showing me that it's possible to play this on deck! 😀

But didn't gave the bethesda launcher

I just pinned a Comment where this happened after the Installer was deleted. In the Description I added a note to not delete the Installer and instead add the Launcher as well. So my Installer that I have on my downloads is still there and keeps the files from deleting. If this doesn't help let me know and I can look further into it.

@@mike_the_it_guy i founded the bethesda launcher but it dosen't work everytime i launch it but i fondée another file named eso.64x wich acts like the bethesda launcher and this one run it well so everythings good now but i still dont know how to download add ons unfortunately

As long as that other launcher works you should be good. As for addons, I believe you have to create the addons folder in the games Main folder. I've never done it myself, but looking it up it's similar to how the Windows setup would be. Good luck with addons and enjoy the game!

Have you tried to use Ubisoft Connect through the Desktop? I know some third party apps I connect in Desktop mode, then add the third party app as a Steam Shortcut, switch to Gaming Mode, then try to run it. You can also try to use Steam's Big Picture Mode to keep the controller support and run it that way in Desktop Mode. I can play around with it if I have time and make an edit to this comment. Let me know if you have success trying the Desktop method.

@@mike_the_it_guy thank you for your quick response, and yes, I actually installed Ubisoft Connect from desktop mode and already tried from the Steam OS and Desktop mode and nothing. Same thing, it's either the password input doesn't work or the eternal loading screen.

I checked this out and it does seem to delete after removing. I'll make the appropriate Edits in the description to reflect this. And your suggestion does work just switching the Launching path.

Can you elaborate more? Are the game files completely gone and you have you're storage back? Is it just the launcher that's Uninstalled?

The files are completely gone when I load of gaming mode, it doesn’t launch and when I click find file in folder the entire folder is gone I have the full space again and I have to redownload, I’ve tried to reinstall multiple times. I’ve even clicked out of it like you changed the proton and everything but every time I go back into gaming mode it’s added to my steam but the files are completely gone

Finally figured it out. The path listed in the description is not correct for my steam deck.

Out of Curiosity, what was the file path you Installed to and what was the file path you Found it in?

I'd say wait a bit longer and see what happens. Could just be an issue loading the UI properly. It is also a fairly large game so it may take some time. If it does stop and nothing changes you can retry the installation and it'll see the files previously downloaded. Hope this helps!

@@mike_the_it_guy thanks for the extremely quick reply. Right now I see “verifying” so I guess it worked out :). Only shows at 1% though but I figure it is installed and now verifying the files. Thanks for the help!

@@mike_the_it_guy aha, it was not working after all. The reason for this was that I plugged in a new Micro sd Card without formatting it, so it showed up in desktop mode but not in steam mode. Formatting the card solved the problem. Installing also visually advances now :).

I have not seen that issue. Have you tried to re-download the ESO installer? You may need to delete the old one and start fresh. Or maybe try another Proton version.

I would personally buy thr Steam version as its much more compatible. I had the Non-Steam version because I was a part of the beta when it first came out. I don't think you can transfer progress as far as I've seen. Consoles are separate from PC. I do not own the Steam version so I cannot verify if Non-Steam and Steam transfer. Hopes this helps!

Thank you I decided on non steam I heard the steam version tends to have more issues like login not working so I didn't want to deal with that thanks for the guides really helpful now the grind begins I'm 1500cp on PS5 it's going to suck grinding again but hopefully it's worth it

Haven't heard about that issue, but you may try uninstalling uplay and downloading it directly from their site and try it that way. That's how I got around EA Origins when it gave me issues. Other than that I'm not sure.

Which version of Proton are you using and what settings in game are you using?

It’s on the pc settings an proton experimental but it works only sometimes in desktop mode but not in gaming mode

Using the deluxe version directly from steam store too though

Plus in desktop mode it says problems with my EA account when it decides to work

Have you tried to delete the Proton files and try again? Settings/Developer/Delete Proton Files

It is a bit of a pain if EA updates the origin launcher and ot breaks, but Proton has been good so far for me. If you do venture this way, just learn some of the Proton Tricks (Getting Proton GE, deleting Proton Cache, and experimenting with the Proton Versions). And for my playthrough now I play everything lowest (says Medium) and locked 30fps. Generally works for me and I've been making progress.

It looks fine to me 30 or 40 fps for the steam deck isn’t bad you shouldn’t expect a full 60 on every game if it’s old I understand

I agreed game runs really well on steam deck 40fps stable

I can try. I've never added subtitles before. Edit: I watched the video with the CC on and was able to read what I said. Just make sure that's one and you should be able to read most of it. Some of my mumbling has nothing to do with the performance. I usually my Phone for recording which has a much better Voice pickup so I'll make sure I have it for my future tests.

Ya my quick setup I use at work for some of these videos needs a better mic situation.

Yes for normal use, but this test was just to demonstrate the specific case of "Internet goes out". I even turn off the wifi normally in the video for another scenario.

@@Anti-Yeet Well that happens to any PC game with drms. I mean I guess some games have workarounds and Cracks, but even that is iffy on newer titles. Edit: I can check some games with drms but I'm assuming they may have issues.

For me, as long as I can play the game I'm good to go. I have yet to come across an issue other than the Playtime not adding up. Have you come across any particular issues? I've been trying to replicate issues I've seen on some reddit posts with offline mode, but haven't been able to do so.

@@mike_the_it_guy i think the only problem with offline tht some people suffer from is not being able to go offline (since it requires internet to do so,which is pretty insane)

From a programming stand point it makes sense to have that requirement. The Offline mode status turns certain checks off to make sure the switch is seamless. Losing internet, however, doesn't affect all games and seems to be game specific. Example: I play Valheim on and off internet on a local world. I've lost power to my home in the middle of playing with some friends and I just kept playing building up a settlement. I quit the game and I shut the steam deck down (not sleep). Next evening I have power and internet restored, I turn on my Steam Deck, start Valheim, and it says my local save is newer and I click to upload my local save. All progress was saved and nothing disrupted. But, a similar experience while at a party where I didn't have access to their internet, my device was not in Offline mode. I just started it up and we played some classic games via RetroArch. No issues starting it up even though the settings screen kept saying "Can't connect to steam servers. I have been trying to get physical evidence of these issues and I'm coming to the same conclusion, some games work just fine even when internet is disrupted, and others don't. I have yet to see one of my games do that and so that's why I want to see what games everyone else us having issues with. And I'm not denying the issue exists, I honestly just want to look into the issue and see if there's a solution or work around. I live solving problems like this.

Which Proton version are you using? I use Experimental. In the Properties tab you can force compatability for another Proton. Try Experimental

@@mike_the_it_guy I was using the most updated version of proton GE but I believe I also tried with experimental. It seems like it’s slightly zoomed in. I see my character and only part of my Mount with no options to do or select anything

Yes that's how I did it. I have another video going over it. This one was to help install ESO specifically on the SD card rather than the internal ssd like I did originally.
