      Thanks Philip! Yes, 100%....definitely change in to private. When I was researching for my Gather online community book, I didn't find a single successful Facebook group that was public. There is no incentive for members to join if it is always open. Plus it will massively affect your engagement levels if members know anyone is able to see what they post. Wild camping is safe. My top tip is when you want to stop then be well away from the trail even 20m can be far enough people just do not look for a camp especially if the tent is a dark colour. Then I wait for 10 mins and just sit maybe make a brew. If anyone comes along and sees me I move on. If I set up camp and anyone approaches I pack and move on in case they come Back late while I sleep. BUT ITS NEVER EVER HAPPENED IN 20,000 km of doing this across UK and Europe.

    • @BandFamilyAdventures
      @BandFamilyAdventures 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great tips! And amazing that you've never had to pack down and move on. This has also been my experience.....if you do wild camping properly and respectfully, then no one will know you are there!

      @@BandFamilyAdventures I am in the East Midlands. I already checked and can hire one in the Peak District 😀 but I am sure there will be local services to. Lichfield have ebike tour packages. The cost of bike racks will also be a deciding factor if I go down that route...they are quite pricey...so I will need to know I am going to use it regularly. But your video was really great for making me explore the possibilities 😊❤

    Never camp under Beech tree's even in moderate winds. A Beech tree sheds it's lower limbs as it grows. They die off and become brittle. Just have a look at all the dead branches on the ground next time you see a Beech tree.

    First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video!!!! You're incredible. I have a very detailed question for you, but no worries if you don't have the time to answer it. I am going to be launching a PR campaign with the goal of getting 25,000-50,000 signatures on a petition to help move a piece of legislation forward. I am fairly well versed on most of the social media world, but have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to Facebook Groups. Realistically this campaign would last for 6 months since that is when the next legislative cycle would start. With that said, would it be worth it to put effort into a facebook group? Or, is it to short of a time frame to be valuable? If so, would you suggest running a promo like the one you suggested in this video to increase Group count faster, or would that degrade the quality of those who joined? Don't feel pressured to respond, but if you can, even a sentence or two would mean the world. Again, thank you so much for your time.

    • @BandFamilyAdventures
      @BandFamilyAdventures 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for the kind words!! I’m happy you found it helpful :) I think for this sort of campaign you’ll want lots of different approaches to marketing to increase your reach. A group will grow faster than a page (especially if you can encourage people who join to have conversations - put post out with questions and ask them their opinions and this will get the conversation flowing). So I would definitely try opening one! As it’s a short timeframe it might be worth trying ads alongside the techniques I suggest in the video. Very happy to answer questions :) Also do you have a link for signatures? I’d love to take a look!
