Forgive me for being a hater this month! If you liked any of the books I didn't, or hated the ones that I did, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Honestly there is nothing more fun that getting into heated discussions about book opinions sometimes...
What did you read this month? This girly is always looking to add more books to an already unattainable TBR list ✌️

#2 A few days in Toronto, seeing friends, trying new restaurants
มุมมอง 72ปีที่แล้ว
last august, we had a lovely short trip in toronto visiting our friends we stopped by the st. lawrence market, distillery district, eaton centre, eataly, ehwa bar, and tenon vegan sushi there's something so exhaustingly enjoyable about having a week packed with social plans, but rest assured we slept like the dead after getting back home lol 🎵 music used Music by Mr. Jello - Sleeping on a cloud...

I am mainly a fantasy/sci fi reader, but these would be my recommendations in litfic: - Kim Jiyoung, born 1982 by Cho Nam-Joo - Flower for Algernon by Daniel Keyes - although it leans more into speculative soft sci fi? - Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin - Sourdough by Robin Sloan - The Harpy by Megan Hunter - kinda magical realism in a very dark way - The Death of Ivan Ilych by Leo Tolstoy - especially if you want to get into russian literature - Pew by Catherin Lacey - at first I thought it was kinda boring, but it's been over a year since I read it, and I still think about it - Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan - I'm currently reading it for the third time. It's my favourite december read - Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa
I always thought I'm more into fantasy novels, but to be honest High Fantasy novels bore me. In recent years I learnt that I enjoy reading litfic. But it doesn't mean I don't like fantasy, it depends on the book and story. Same goes for every book genre. If it's interesting, I'll read the book, if it's not I'll stop reading. I'll try to read the fifth season. Maybe I'll think differently about High Fantasy after reading it. 😅
I have been eating up your content because your reading taste is so cool🤭 For a reading rec, I am about to finish Purple Hibiscus and I loved it! If your into character driven, coming of age stories with heavier and complex themes - there you go ;)
Thanks for watching! 🥰 I've read We Should All Be Feminists by the same author and I've been meaning to read a full length novel by her since, so I'm definitely taking down your reco ✍️
Loved Gentleman in Moscow! Amor Towles is one of my favorite authors!
Please send a girly some good book recs 😭
Informative video! New subbie.
@@monalisa360 Ahh so glad you enjoyed!! 🥰
Thanks for the lovely recs.. am definitely adding all of these to my list. I just finished reading this phenomenal collection of fairy tales entitled 'Sillies, Fancies and Trifles' - highly recommend, it's perfect for the season. Keep up the beautiful vids!
@@Panagiotireads That sounds like a lovely recommendation! And thanks for watching ☺️
I’ve read all but gentleman!!
Alchemist was an amazing book, and I’m below average reader, I would say. Maybe because I’m a spiritual person I found it so exciting and easy to read.
Loved Foster and The Song of Achilles. GG Marques not for me.
I can definitely see how GG Márquez wouldn't be for everyone!!
GABRIEL GARCÍA MÁRQUEZ MENTIONED!!
Your recommendations are spot on! Great video
Thanks for watching!! ☺️
I started with a Murakami book, and I love it.
Ok I'm impressed! I read Kafka on the Shore a few years ago and it was sooo hard for me 😭
❤📚📚❤️ I loved A Gentleman in Moscow! I read Harry Potter series in October last year for the first time. Brilliant! I look forward to the Graceling and The Fifth Season series! Anxious People by Fredrik Backman was my first book by this author, and I loved it. A Man Called Ove did not disappoint! I've read almost every book he's written now.
I'm currently reading Beartown so I'm super excited to expand my Fredrik Backman reading list 🙂 So glad to hear your thoughts on all these books!!
Another wonderful author! Fredrik Backman!
❤📚📚❤️ Great recommendations. I just finished Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa, and it was very good.
That's on my tbr, glad to hear it's a good book! I'll have to bump it up my list. I also just love the cover design too... ☺️
@@2youstories Yes, cover and story, both beautiful.
Loved your list, have read all of them except for Almond. Oh! I think Foster actually counts as historical lot fic too, it’s set in the early 80s. 😊
Wow we have similar reading lists lol, hope you have the chance to check out Almond! Also totally didn't realize Foster took place in the 80s, but thinking back to it, that makes a lot of sense... 😅
I haven't read a lot of these books, but from the few I have, I can tell you have great taste. I am excited to check out these recs!
Love that we have similar taste! ☺️
always waiting for your video ❤ I love the way you describe all these stories
ahhh thank you 🥺
Hey, I know you enjoy literary fiction, and I think you’d really connect with The Echoes Within by Alex Hartwell. It's a story that explores memory, identity, and the essence of who we are, all wrapped in a thought-provoking narrative. The book is available for free on Barnes & Noble, Fabble, Kobo, and will soon be on all major book platforms. I’d love for you to read it and share your thoughts!
@@anikettiwari3739 Thanks for the recommendation! 🙂
I have been looking to get into LitFic more so this is perfect! Definitely want to read Claire Keegan now
@@melslittlebooknook Yes!! There are so many different options out there, something for everyone 🙂
This is a Claire Keegan fan page 💁🏻♀️
I totally don’t understand the attraction to Foster (and I know there is a large following!) It seems to start in the middle of a story, and just ends a short time later. No beginning and no (satisfying) ending. I can appreciate the writing and I like the characters, but there is only a piece of a story!
I actually watched the movie adaptation first, The Quiet Girl! I think it helped me interpret the book better after 🙂
I have had Graceling on my TBR for so long. I have heard great things about Fire in particular.
@@melslittlebooknook I'm so excited for you to get to this series! Really hope you enjoy it ☺️
I know what you mean when you say a book feels like being written specifically for one person. I've felt this when I've read, "My Dark Venessa" by Kate Elizabeth Russell (that book filled me up with so much anger and helplessness and absolutely changed my life), and Babel by RF Kuang (I reference lines from that book to this day in my real life).
@@satarupagingerkolay My Dark Vanessa was by far my favourite read this fall, I can totally relate to how it was life changing for you! Babel in on my shelf waiting to be read and I'm so excited to finally get to it hopefully soon ☺️
words cannot explain how excited we are for the eras tour in toronto 🥺 recommended all these movies but honestly might just go watch the concert movie again 🤭
which night did you guys go to? ❤
@_dayliqht we were at night 4!!
If you don't like these books, don't tell me... I'll be sad 🙃
This was such a fun experience! Recommend me some books for next fall, this is 100% becoming an annual tradition 🥰
missing the vibes 🥺
I love the vegi garden🥒🍅🌽
The train rides are so peaceful and relaxing 👍
loving your lunch prep! It looks so good 🥪
haha a good classic sandwich ✌🏼
so cute
Love this video. Makes me smile. Great healing power.
