Bugatti Movie
This is a beautiful kit from Italeri - one of the best I've seen. It goes together really well and the fit is absolutely perfect. It was great fun to weather it and create a well worn racer at the end of its life. I worked from this amazing build video and I can't praise it highly enough if you want this look: th-cam.com/video/LshCf5XdyCM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=colt0X2SMYgE33de
The only note I would say if you are building this is where it tells you to screw the front axle together - make sure you glue it as well. There was a LOT of swearing when mine collapsed at the last minute.
Massively recommended though - well worth the high kit price.

Thunderbirds 'Fireflash'
มุมมอง 3308 หลายเดือนก่อน
One of the all-time classic Thunderbirds episodes - Series 1 Episode 5 - 'Trapped in the Sky'. The new supersonic airliner 'Fireflash' has a bomb hidden in its landing gear so they can't land conventionally. Thunderbird 2 is dispatched for the first time with a cargo of 4 elevator cars so the plane can touch down on them instead. A magic episode that I remember fondly from my childhood (I was j...
Range Rovers
มุมมอง 1099 หลายเดือนก่อน
Two 1/24 scale kits built to show a couple of classic Range Rovers. The first in blue is a 1971 two-door example - built from the Revell kit. Builds quite nicely but lacks the detail and finish of later kits. The second in Grey is a 1994 four-door version built from the Aoshima kit - a much newer kit with fantastic detail and fit.

This is an older Tamiya kit - so while it has the quality it doesn't go together as well as their later kits. This is weathered to be a fairly battered example late in the war.

I built this kit for a customer who collects Hellenic Airforce models - and it's actually a really good scheme. It's from the Revell 1/48 kit which was a bit of a surprise. Builds really well and is very well thought out.
Sea Vixen
มุมมอง 1529 หลายเดือนก่อน
Airfix 1/48th kit is the usual high standard of recent Airfix - buils really well. This model was built for Jonathon Whaley who flew the Sea Vixen featured in the Royal Navy in the 1960s. Beautiful plane - and it was fascinating to hear Jonathon talk about how it compared with the Phantom he flew later, and his 'Miss Demeanor' Hunter. I think it might be a Thunderbirds thing - but I have a real...
Zombie Van
มุมมอง 1209 หลายเดือนก่อน
Built from a truly horrible snap-together Revell kit from the 70s - this van was originally a Charlie's Angels tie in. Instead it became a post-apocalyptic zombie van, with metallic paint and dep-pile shag replaced with heavily rusted exterior and scratch built seats in the back and a big zombie bar on the front. Great fun to do - and not a Farrah Fawcett blonde flick in sight!
Mustang P-51D Lou IV
มุมมอง 5369 หลายเดือนก่อน
I built this and another Mustang from the Tamiya 1/32 Tamiya kits. If you haven't built one of these - give it a go, they are just so impressive and beautifully thought out. As you build, it is really obvious the person who designed it builds models - unlike a lot of other kits where they really don't have a clue!

This is the Tamiya 1/12 scale Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade 30th Anniversary painted and custom graphics for the Marvel HCL Motorsport team competing in the British Superbike Superstock Championship in 2023. Beautiful kit went together really well - but all those graphic were 'challenging' (euphamism alert). Great fun though!

This is the Italeri version of the old Ertl kit - I think it dates from the 1970s but I'm not sure. It's a huge kit - about a metre long (3 feet in old money) and the fit of the parts is 'challenging'. It's such a beautiful aircraft though that the build is well worth the extra effort.

This is a build to commemorate Wing Commander George Stainforth. He was an amazing man who was part of the team that won the 1931 Schneider Trophy, and was also the first man to fly at more than 400mph. There's a whole lot more about his complex life as well - and his relative Gordon Stainforth has written about it here if you are interested: www.gordonstainforth.co.uk/ Gordon is an interesting...

    I have the same kit, I bought it back in the 1990's, I haven't decided whether to go for the gusto and build it or just keep it in the box. I read somewhere they are considering re releasing it. I also have the 1/8th scale '23 T- bucket that I built back in the 1990's sitting on a shelf.

    Back in 1982, I went on a field trip to Bolling AFB in MD. I saw a Ho229, (no wings attached and a lot of pieces at the time.) , the Avro Air Car and a forward section of a B29. Always thought it would have been bigger before actually seeing one.

    @scalemodelmakeruk881 ...How did you manage to cut out the wing panels and what did you use? The plastic is so fragile so it would be really good to know exactly how you did this. Can you advise please?

    • @scalemodelmakeruk
      @scalemodelmakeruk 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So sorry for slow reply - glad you liked it. I cut the panels with a sharp scalpel (lots of gentle slow cuts along panel lines) until I could bend along the line and break the last portion. Gentle sanding after that and you lose the minimum of actual panel.

  • @Tusk926
    @Tusk926 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @scalemodelmakeruk
      @scalemodelmakeruk 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry for slow reply - it’s not that bad if you are careful. I cut with a scalpel until I can bend along the scored line and break the rest. That way you lose minimum actual panel (whereas you would with a saw)
