Hello, everyone! Thank you so much for your kind comments on my first video! I filmed this video before our trip, so I couldn’t mention how thankful I am. Please enjoy this not-yet-completed 2024 Hobonichi Weeks flip through. Instagram: adrislogsprofilecard/?igsh=dG1kYzU0Z2xicWFx
2024 Journals~ an ode to the Hobonichi Weeks
มุมมอง 5K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hello, everyone! In this first video, I wanted to show what I have been using in 2024 and share a bit about how much I have grown to love the Hobonichi Weeks. I hope everyone has an amazing day. Please leave me any suggestions or requests. Love, Adriana Instagram: adrislogsprofilecard/?igsh=dG1kYzU0Z2xicWFx
Hello! I just found your channel & I’m very excited to follow you 😊I was also a comp lit major & born in El Salvador but I don’t read a lot of South/Central American female authors so I’d love recommendations ❤ I focused on Japanese & French in my studies! I also got the Thank You for your hard work cover..it’s just so comforting to look at for me, I love the colors and children’s book style art! I just tested the paper & it’s definitely different from my current Panda weeks! That’s so interesting & strange, but I don’t really use FPs in my weeks a lot so hopefully I’ll get used to it. Thank you for sharing!!😊
If I’m in a journaling “funk,” I have multiple backup options: journal at a different time of day, use the same one-line prompts, or just find something to be grateful for.
i love your vibe !!!
Thank you~✨
you have immaculate taste with the cover choices!!
Thank you! 😊
I also like the Keiko Shibata designs and it was so hard to decide! Will need to do some testing of my fountain pens on all of my books too. Also, totally get wanting to talk to fellow stationery lovers! My family is the same, they are sweet and listen but not as interested 😅😂
Right! They’re all so sweet, but those poor things must be so tired of listening to us talk about paper 😂
I would love to hear about how you write about negative stuff. Loved to hear your thoughts about why you chose your planner! I feel the same way about talking to my boyfriend and friends about planners and notebooks, hope you get the community that you need from TH-cam 🥰
It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it has helped me a lot to enjoy my journals and not feel overwhelmed by negative things. I’ll definitely talk more about it.💕
Please talk more about it, @@adrislogs, I’d also love to hear more about that! Just discovered your channel and could relate a lot with many things :.) Looking forward to the next videos ❤
I enjoyed your video! I think there are some known issues with hobonichi’s 5 year journal paper this year. Maybe research before you consider buying.
I know… that’s why I haven’t purchased it yet, because five years with a funky paper is a long time 😩
My Denali notebook and A6 Hon's paper seem to be good when i tested the paper, so i'm safe. I think its really the TMR S company's fault, they should work with their consistency.
Totally! My other TMR S seemed to be just fine, which is why I was so surprised. But I have seen some people experiencing heavy bleed-through in their regular Hobonichi notebooks. I really hope Sanzen can improve their quality control.
Lovely to hear your thoughts. I got the Through the Purple Nights weeks and when I compared by 2023, 2024 and 2025 weeks, they all seem similar to me.... maybe sometimes there are inconsistencies from book to book and of course, your pen, your ink... everything is a unique combination! I like you, look to youtube for stationery folks to chat with because in my real life, they aren't into stationery like me LOL
It seems like the inconsistencies are mainly tied to certain designs, which I guess were manufactured in batches. I really hope that next year’s TMR S has a bit more consistency. I know my poor boyfriend must be so tired of listening to all this paper talk 😂
@@adrislogs Haha yeah the stuff that matters to stationery nerds is probably very weird to other people! So I have the 2025 midori hibino which also uses sanzen paper and it is also fine… but then again they manufacture so much paper - it is possible something can go wrong. It is too bad!
i love your sailor!! i have not seen that blue before so pretty!!
Is not a Sailor! Is actually a Jinhao 82✨ I fell in love with the color, so I needed to get it.
@@adrislogs oh amazing!! that's good to know ty :)
First video and over 350 subscriptions already?! Congratulations!! Good luck!!
Thank you so much 😊
amo tu contenido <3 i'm here to stay
Thank so much💕
I absolutely love your style! I am currently in a Hobonichi A6 Original and that has been a great amount of space to recap my day. Although I am considering going up to a B6 daily for more room. You don't have to journal for hours or journal about your feelings if you don't want to! It can be 10-15 minutes a day to capture what you want :). Excited to see what's next!
Thank you so much 😊 I am considering an A6 techo for next year~ I flipped through my old journals, and it’s such a cute size
I love the look of your book and style!! And so relaxing to listen/watch!! 💛💛
This made my day 😊
Your hobonichi weeks is really lovely. I love seeing how you used it x
Thank you so much 😊
Beautiful video!! I am loving your weeks ❤ and would love to see anything hobonichi 😂 I love commonplacing.
Thank you so much! I love your channel~✨
are you on instagram?
Yes✨ I recently made one instagram.com/adrislogs/profilecard/?igsh=dG1kYzU0Z2xicWFx
I’m so glad that I’ve found your channel! I enjoyed seeing your journal. Thanks for your insight about your journaling process. 😊
Lovely perspective. Please make more videos!
It’s rare for me to find a creator whose the creative style AND taste in books is similar to my own. 😀 Love the pops of color and big, bold designs in your planner. And I read My Death and wow, what a story! One of my favorite reads from 2024 so far.
I am so happy to hear that! Do you have any book recommendations? I have a 14-hour flight ahead this week 😂 Thank you for your kind words.💕
I agree completely with @valerie7918. I would recommend anything by Olga Tokarczuk if you haven’t read her already.
Great video
I have an hobonichi weeks for 2025. I love your ‘weeks’ set up!!
I loved your first video! I am from Spain too (Seville) and I have been watching a lot of people using hobonichi, I love the cousin and want to get my first one for 2025, but I don’t know if I will be able to afford it before January!😂 If not I am planning to continue with a less complete journal and use a blank notebook for daily entries. I would love to see a flipthrough your journals and I think it will be nice for you to do it also. I have a friend that is transcribing her journal entries from an app to a phisical journal and she is loving it so I think you could get a similar experience. Something that she told me that was interesting was that when she was reading more negative entries, she did not remember those days well, but when she reached more positive ones she remembered all of it! I think it is better to get a journaling habit to be able to track both negative and positive entries, so you can get perspective on your life and experiences with time. Hope you find this interesting as well ❤
Update: I got it! Found a shop in Spain that sells it and I did not have to pay the shipping costs. I am so excited for my first hobonichi!!!
I’m the same in terms of journaling- much more of a short term “logging” sort of journaler. I use the Hobonichi A6 5-Year techo. Its a small enough space each day per year, and then theres a blank grid page if you want to write more. I am currently in year 3 and have absolutely loved it.
I am really considering trying a 5-year journal, especially because next year I’m turning 30, so it seems like a perfect milestone and fun idea 🤩
Love these clean sets up! It's so overwhelming when I see people decorate their whole spread instead of "planning" haha.
I'd be very interested in the latin american female autors if you'd like to share
For sure! I think I will prepare some book related content soon ✨
I love your videos please do a book recommendations like top 10 favorite books or something
Thank you for the idea✨ I think I will do some book related content soon!
Lovely video! Definitely subscribing to your channel. Would you maybe consider doing a video on the fountain pens and inks you are using?
Great idea! Now that I am back to Spain for a bit, I will bring all my inks back with me ✨✨
the weeks is my fave bound notebook ever, can´t go a year without it!
Love love the weeks. It would be lovely to have a collection of weeks through the years ✨
Thank you for sharing all about your journal! And that blue jinhao is beautiful, what is the color name or a link to find it?
Thank you 😊 The model is: Jinhao 85 (EF) in Clear Celestite a.aliexpress.com/_EIu92gH
I had the same issue with focusing too hard on the negative but I came to hear about commonplacing and from there kind of threw in some thoughts and feelings about certain things like media, songs, artists, theories, etc all focused around things I *enjoy* thinking about. I found that helped me enjoy journaling again was just giving myself a space to essentially express my joy and be happy and it drew me back to writing very quickly.
So true! I think this is exactly what I want to encapsulate. I love journaling, but sometimes it can be taxing to focus only on your feelings. Exploring the things you like also shapes your year and your experiences, so moving forward, I want to focus on that.
Loved the first video. I look forward to more ❤. I have subscribed.
Here to cheer you on with the journey of digital documentation! This was a brilliant start 🥰 As a recent Weeks owner/user I really enjoyed it🍀
Thank you so much, Elle✨ your videos are a huge inspiration as well as your beautiful journals💕
@@adrislogs Oh thank youuu! 🥹 You’re so sweet~!💌
Absolutely loved seeing how your practice evolved throughout the months! Such a beautiful reminder that journals should serve your needs, not the other way around. I’m also extremely curious about your Jinhao pen, since I’ve never had a fountain pen before and am looking for something cheap to try out. What model is it? Does it come pre-filled with ink? How do you refill it - are there special cartridges for it?
Thank you for your kind words! I think the Jinhao would a great pen to start dipping your toes in the fountain pen world! The model is: Jinhao 85 (EF) in Clear Celestite. It doesn’t come pre-prefilled, it has a refillable cartridge, but you can also use standard international cartridges (I would say the long ones). Hope that helps ✨ a.aliexpress.com/_Ey8q2wp
Thank you for making this video! It was absolutely lovely to hear about your journaling thoughts, processes, and struggles. The portion of the video where you talked about wanting to find a community really resonated with me-I am also wishing for the same thing. I would love to see a flip-through of your Hobonichi Weeks and am super interested in how you've come to use it as a journal. I don't care for long-form journaling either, and always end up with empty pages in my books at the end of the year because some days I just run out of steam and don't have the energy to fill them. BUT the Hobonichi Weeks seems like the perfect solution and your pages are SO BEAUTIFUL! Thank you again and looking forward to your future videos!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Long-form journaling really doesn’t work for me; sometimes it feels like a chore, and I don’t have the energy for it. But like you said, the Weeks is such a lovely size to keep in check with yourself without overwhelming you. Comments like this make me so happy-truly a great community ✨
what a great video - so insightful and interesting to see the way you use your weeks, i’m so happy you decided to do the flip through ❤️ i’m glad that you mentioned the issue with ink because i have it as well and also haven’t heard anyone else mention it… i actually struggled with the ink never fully drying in my previous weeks which doesn’t seem to be an issue in the new one, but i’m also not the biggest fan of how bigger my writing looks 🥲 i liked your attitude towards it though, instead of complaining it’s just something we need to get used to 👍 looking forward to your next upload and i wish you a safe trip to Barcelona!
Ooh I know how it feels! Is a bit disappointing that we cannot enjoy our nib sizes as intended, but at the same time is fun to see what works and what doesn’t. I have Platinum’s Carbon Black ink and It seems to work well with the paper and the nibs✨
Lovely video! I’ve abandoned my weeks for the last few months because i’ve been so busy but this motivated me to pick it back up! Ps: I’m also from Barcelona <3
Hola! The good thing about the weeks is that is so easy to pick it back up, such a compact size✨
I loved your first video and I definitely would wait for future ones from you!. For me I like having my stationery supplies on my desk or my desk's drawer so it becomes easy for me to reach for them whenever I want. I like having them close to me as well because they bring me joy. I also like to watch short journaling videos when I am having a journaling session and just like you I like writing short sentences about my days. I also like using my vertical Traveler's Notebook for memory keeping in which I write what I'm doing, watching, eating, or reading just special or mundane moments, and decorate it throughout the week, but I will do a little decoration every Sunday and keep adding more throughout the week ephemera related to that week maybe an order I've received or a picture of something I enjoyed or of someone I love. Plus, a passport insert for special occasions and sometimes for mundane moments, as well because I like decorating, so that's another way for me to decorate . Usually 15 minutes or 30 minutes is enough for me, but I also like to take breaks and have multiple sometimes more journaling sessions depending on the time and day. I usually keep the negative thoughts on a digital file on Google drive, because journaling for me is something positive and I rarely do write something negative in my journals which makes it a bit easy for me to show my pages to my family or friends. I hope this essay has helped lol
Loved this essay 😂 It’s so interesting how you journal about your negative feelings. These days, I usually write my negative thoughts on a piece of paper, let everything go, and when I’m done, I rip it up and throw it away. It’s somehow cathartic. I totally feel you-I also like small journaling sessions. These days, it has become harder for me because at work, my desk is so close to my coworkers that I don’t feel comfortable taking my journal out, but it’s what works best for me too. Thank you so much for your message. I love having a window into other people’s journaling habits.
Oooh I love seeing how people personalize their planners! How do you like to decorate yours?
I’m so glad that I’ve found your channel! I really enjoyed seeing your journal. 😊
I don’t think much about it, actually! I like to decorate the left side of the page a bit first, so I have a structure, and then I decorate the rest organically throughout the week ✨.
That thing you said about your journals being your friends resonated so much. I’m about to make a big move abroad, to a country where I don’t speak the language and don’t know anyone - so my journals will be doing some heavy lifting keeping me sane through it all… I also love that some of your entries are in Spanish! As a native Russian speaker who's lived in a fully English-speaking environment for the past 7 years, I have recently started journaling in Russian from time to time and noticed how different of a person I am in different languages. Do you notice that at all with your journaling practice? Would love to hear you talk about that if you ever feel like sharing. Subscribing and wishing you best of luck on your TH-cam journey ❤
Wishing you the best of luck on your move! ❤
Totally, I will talk about existing in between places and languages. I think it’s a great idea ✨ Since moving to Korea, I journal solely in Spanish. I really miss speaking in my mother tongue, so it makes me feel closer to home. Funny enough, when I was in Spain, I used to journal in English to practice, but now I feel like I want to stay connected to my roots ✨.
@@TheCommonCorner Ah thank you so much! Your videos have been keeping me company while packing 🩶
@@adrislogs Yay - looking forward to that so much! It’s fascinating to see how we multilingual folks switch between languages, especially in private, when the language is not dictated by the environment. There are worlds contained within each language, emotions that only exist within it.
@@sofiiawithtwoeyes ah so happy to hear I can keep you company! 🥰
YAY to your first video-! It was lovely listening to you talk about your journals. I loved looking at your pages and I'm curious to see how your commonplacing journal progress (I am new to commonplacing and still trying to figure out my system). I'm excited to see more content from you and how you'll grow on this platform ♡♡♡
Thank you so much! I am also curious to see how it progresses 😂 Common journaling is something I am still getting used to, so it will be exciting to see how my style evolves✨
Only five minutes into the video and I’m already in love with your hobo weeks!! I was sad to find out this was your first video so I can’t go binge your backlog hahaha the way you use and decorate your pages resonates so much with me
I am so happy to hear that! I just posted a hobonichi flip through✨✨
excited to follow you in your journaling journey! and I love your taste in books! am reading how to write an autobiographical novel too. am envious of where you are (korea) and I also want to visit barcelona in the future
Thank you so much! 😊 Do you have a favorite read from this year? I would like to hear your recommendations ✨
@@adrislogs I highly recommend The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune and Out There by Kate Folk :)
This was a wonderful video! I’m excited to see more content from you!😊
Thank you so much 🤗
Yay great first video!! It takes a lot of courage to take the step of uploading. Excited to see how you go on this journey! and remember, this is YOUR page, it is about YOU! there are no rules that say how you have to navigate this space and no one is going to get angry at you for taking your time to find your place. Good Luck!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I always wanted to create videos and show my notebooks, but like you said, it takes a lot of courage. Especially because our notebooks are places where we are vulnerable, hype ourselves up, or just vent, so I always felt a bit overwhelmed by the idea of showing them. But I have such a great time watching others that I said to myself, why not? And I’m so glad I did-it’s such a great community.
@@adrislogs That's a great mindset! I'm trying to get myself to a point where I can share this part of myself too but it feels so vulnerable I keep doubting myself. I will say that you're right about the kindness of this community, everyone seems to understand that we're putting a precious part of ourselves on show and everyone tends to be very kind about that. I'm sure I'll take that leap eventually, even if it is just one time! Also, I'm watching your current video rn. When I subscribed yesterday you had 16 subs and now you have 133!!!! Congrats that's wonderful!!
Que lindo!! Adoro tu trabajo!❤❤ i found planner peace with the weeks too and your spreads are such an inspiration!
I am so happy to hear that! Yay for the weeks ✨
