without seeing your screen, hard to troubleshoot. But I would guess you need to do some "First Flight" missions. That gives you some experience before you can take people and cargo. Zoom out and look around the globe. Typically, the first flights are in the area where you got your PPL.

Without seeing your screensnaps, it's hard to troubleshoot, but once you get your PPL, you need to do the mission, or missions that are there. Probably "FirstFlight" missions. They don't pay, but they give you experience. Then the levels start to rise, just like in real life. Once we got our PPL, we needed to build up hours before we even took a friend flying. Go fly, and get real good at VFR arrivals and you will excelerate.

Premium has Skyops, plus 15 languages of ATC, IFR/VFR and, well, everything you could ever need. (including me and TwoTone as mentors). Ha!

@@joeynuggetz hey Joey. Good point about keyboard mappings. The past sims (and other games) all had keyboard shortcuts. How did they not get in the way? I guess because we didn’t have an EFB built in? I’ll have to test this. And maybe log it with Microsoft and see where it is in the cue. Thanks for the heads up.

FYI the movie is available to rent or buy on TH-cam Premium so I splashed out and bought it. Personally I think they could charge half of what is near the price for a physical DVD copy, but it is what it is.

Yes. Parallel 42 has a page on their website to show which products are fully compatible now. We used Camsite with any plane in 2024 just like we did in 2020. So much fun getting out of the plane now and heading to the campsite. Remember that to see another player's campsite, you need to share your campsite. We do this on my Discord server so everyone flying together can import campsites from others.

Not for all of us. I can tell you that GA pilots are logging hundreds of hours and having a ball. I did warn anyone who expected a perfect product out the door should stay on 2020 until the coast is clear. No disappointments or regrets.

@ There is a difference between a perfect product and this 2024 garbage release and actually charging money for it. The state this game was released in is indefensible. Shame on you for doing so. You don’t charge people money for any product with a caveat of “when the coast is clear”. If you haven’t seen enough to give you disappointment and regret then you haven’t played enough or explored enough of the game and you’re now uninformed and have lost any credibility. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

@@De3533N I agree that this game was a flop on release and I was the first to say the buck stops at the CEO of both Asobo (Seb) and Microsoft Flight Simulator CEO (Jorg). He should have been fired. But that’s not on me. The pressure of TH-cam, Twitch and my Udemy courses ask me to sort it out and report the good and the bad. I was first to criticize and the first to warn people to stay with 2020 and at the same time, having a ball with what works. Many of my Twitch community have logged hundreds of hours having a ball and that’s what I am reporting. No need to shame me for doing what my community expects of me.

I replied already, but it could also be that somehow I am on live traffic and it is trying to load it for the area I am in. I could check on my next flight that I am on AI traffic, or no traffic instead of live traffic.

not that I know of. They will fix these little rough edges in the next update. It will be a service in Azure they are finding is overloaded. Hang in there. They have hundreds of programmers fine tuning their cloud services.

@@ForderLearnToFly Thank you, I’m concerned as it was always there in 2020 and never had the option to turn that pop up message off. It never affected actual game play for me, so I don’t see the reason we need to get that immersion breaking message every 2 minutes. Thanks for listening, cheers. Maybe it’s my internet glitching on and off , but the actual issue is not having the option to turn off the pop up.

A lot of us are enjoying it. I guess we aren’t doing the more complex things.

It will get better, just like 2020 took the whole first year for many of us. There is a lot of good in it already and many of us logging hundreds of hours doing fun things and practicing our VFR skills.

These are my own tests as a Windows 10/11 specialist. I measured network fetch traffic for increments of 1GB starting at the default 16GB. After 32GB, it had no more effect or no more advantage to a bigger cache. This could change as they patch our client but I recommend 32 for max benifit. Higher is a waste in my tests on all my systems.

I would love to but I don't have an S. Same setup, same everything but you don't have a 4k output. I used an S for FS2020 but gave it to my brother.

I am sorry to hear of your experience. I have installed MSFS2024 on a laptop, PC and Xbox with all three working beautifully. I didn't do anything special to do that. Something is very wrong with your setup. I wouldn't have done this video if I wasn't thrilled with Xbox and MSFS2024. As a troubleshooter, I can only ask some basic observations to help, such as: are you constantly connected to the Internet? Without it, you have nothing. All scenery, airports, airplanes, meshes etc are streamed to you as you need them and a small cache (16 to 32GB) stores them temporarily. As for graphics, you don't have any control over how Xbox does it. (HDR on or off), so that should be excellent right out of the box. You certainly have an excellent monitor there, better than most flyers, and your Xbox X can do 4K. Remember, the Xbox S can't do 4K output. Those two things to look at would cause your symptoms. Xbox X (not S) and internet connection. Xbox S still works great, better than 2020 did, but not 4K. Good luck. Come to ForderLearnToFly discord server to get help from thousands of flyers. @ Ty for quick response I am using it out of box and internet is on constant and 100 HDR on and off I tried it is running at 120hz Smooth flying but graphics awful I did not change any setting since there are none for graphics only hdr Tarmac flying up in the air no traffic and buildings look poor no rendering at all

@@ClaudeFrancois-f2t Perfectly fine. Microsoft's recommended minimum is 10Mbps, ideal is 50Mbps. Your internet speeds are fine, as long as something else isn't being a resource hog on your home network. LOL

@@WoodyTwit Hi Woody. Thanks for your feedback. Yes, we have been contacting Microsoft and Asobo as official reviewers. I will say that my 3 installations don’t have a mouse problem but have certainly heard that is an issue. I have it installed on Steam (laptop), Xbox (this video) and my main aim PC I use on Twitch streams with GamePass. I was lucky. I need a mouse for everything and understand why that needs to be addressed.

@ thanks for the reply. I only have an Xbox setup (like yours) except my mouse is wireless. Interesting that you’re the only person I’ve heard say that their mouse works to freelook around the cockpit and external views on an Xbox X based sim….. thanks for your efforts, much appreciated by the community. Out of interest, can you do the walk around feature in 3rd person, or is that just a pc thing? On pc whilst in walk around, if you hit ‘backspace’ (default) it switches to 3rd person (like GTA). But I cannot get this feature to work as in the ‘advanced’ settings on Xbox, there is nothing there to enable it, but there is on pc. Thanks again.

@@WoodyTwit To walk your person around, just open the door or Shift-C on a keyboard. Same to get back in. This is a new feature we didn't have in 2020 and a lot of fun. We have climbed mountains, took photos at the Grand Canyon and climbed pyramids. Lots of fun to add to the thrill of flying.

@@Trip_on_the_Sky I have heard this, but you see in my video my mouse was fine. I will dive deeper and try to find out why some work and not others.
