moses wapshot: stick to low-to-moderate power (20 - 40 watts) and they will do just fine! I used my pair of 57's with a Bedini 25/25 for 12 years without problem!

btw congratulations on owning quads and especially ESL 57s. I've wanted a pair all my life. But don't they blow easily and aren't you up the creek if they do? Mind you I'm not a heavy metal fan but I would want to hit 90db now and then ...

They do sound good but there is something weird about listening to high res speakers on computer speakers. I guess one mentally adjusts and compares them to what one would expect to hear if the Quads were replaced by ordinary speakers. As to how precisely one can imagine that, that's another question.

Maybe a little too predominant on the highs because of the horns but I like it.

@maxbify It doest sound realistic because its filmed by a crappy camera, uploaded to youtube, compressed, and then playing on your computer, probably with a bad soundcard trough bad speakers or headphones.

Is there no frequency network before the mid/high ribbon that cuts the low frequencies off ? This extreme ´dancing´ first looks nice but is very bad for the tension of the ribbon.... I own a pair of Apogee FullRanges and had this dancing in reduced form before I put a high pass on the mid ribbon.
