That's me 25 years ago!!! Thanks for including Australia! I have so many amazing memories from that time in my life.
Good idea but personally I feel its a bit innapropriate ,singing and dancing to a tragic event
No links 😞
Oh dang, I will add the links, thank you so much for letting me know!
It's a cool musical! Agreed!
Love this Musical
2017** you said 2007
Noted thanks 👋
I'm glad that all you took away from that video was the fact that I said 2007 and not 2017 🤔
It's worth nothing that the original London production had new songs written for it, along with a new book.
And the wonderful Joan Diener!
Why no mention of Thornton Wilder's successful Broadway play The Matchmaker (1954, a revision of his 1938 comedy The Merchant of Yonkers)? Hello, Dolly! stays quite close to the plot of the play. Wilder wrote the role of Dolly for Ruth Gordon -- the character doesn't appear in the old German play he used as the basis of his very American farce -- and in gratitude to her and her husband Garson Kanin, who had urged him to give the failed Merchant of Yonkers another chance, he re-titled the play. And Hello, Dolly! reinforced Dolly Gallagher Levi as the starring role.
Tremendous Review of one of the greatest Musicals of All Time! Oliver! the movie is one of my favorite films ever and have seen it over 50 times, I urge anyone in today's world to see this picture and see how Oscar Worthy it was going up against many notable films in 1968!!!!!
Thank you very much for the comment! Im a huge musical theater fan, and I love learning more about shows along the way as I make content! Make sure you subscribe to see future content as I upload!
Rudy's last name is pronounce val-LEE. He was a VERY famous actor from the early days of talking films.
I saw Ralph Macchio do it and he was surprisingly good., though the choreography wasn't quite up to the Bob Fosse standard of the movie. The movie is one of my top three favorite musical movies.
Thats Awesome! Thank You for sharing! Its a pretty funny show but also a good look inside the business world :)
Bern STYNE--not Bern-STEEN. A-bee's--not Abby's--Irish Rose.
Well done! I've learned a lot about this production from other books and podcasts, and yet discovered a great deal of new facts from this post. I highly recommend Arthur Laurent's autobiography for anyone wanting to go a little deeper. Thanks for taking the time to use higher def images to illustrate the story and artfully presenting them. I really makes such a difference.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Jack DeLeon did have a reoccurring character on Barney Miller for a few years, but he was not a detective.
your channel is a gem. thank you!
Thank you very much! I have a huge love of theater, and your comment really made my day!! 😁😁
Hello, how are you? This video was very helpful to me, but could you tell me what the work is about? Please, thank you. 😄
Like what the show is about?
Its kind of difficult to find stuff from the pre mgm version of the musical. As its story has elements that relate to the lore of the later oz stories even though its sort of it sown thing. The oz books canon is sort of all over the plsce O
It was interesting to dig up history and explore what inspired the movie! Thanks for your comment!
Ahhh so this is what happened to ozmas dad
I no joke just did this show (the 1903 version.)
Very cool! At a local community theater or national tour?
Community theatre. They posted it on TH-cam: th-cam.com/video/HKgS1q1S0W4/w-d-xo.html@@centerstage-42
Love the tinting of the photos! Would have loved see this in 1903!
Thanks so much! I wanted to show what it looked like in color! It's an interesting concept musical in it's early days!
Have been fascinated with the show for many year. I remember seeing a picture of the gentlemen who played the scarecrow and Tin Man on stage! Thx@@centerstage-42
